University of Oregon announces seven additions to top-25 ranked recruiting class

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon soccer program announced seven additions to its 2022 recruiting class. Combined with the four signees in the fall, the Ducks’ have the No. 25 class in the nation according to Top Drawer Soccer.

Head coach Graeme Abel has added freshmen Ainsley Fink (Las Vegas), Trinity Morales (Tucson, Ariz.), Caitlyn McCulloch (Orinda, Calif.), Rieley Petkovich (Prescott, Ariz.), Julie Richards (Portland) and Anna Solomon (Lafayette, Calif.), plus USC transfer Bel Rolley (Las Vegas) to the collection of newcomers who will take the field for the Ducks this fall.

Those seven will join fall signees Kristen Conti (Tustin, Calif.), Anna Emperador (Elk Grove, Calif.), Livvy Moore (Deer Park, Wash.) and Ajanae Respass (Highlands Ranch, Colo.).

Morales, a midfielder, is the third four-star recruit in the Ducks’ 2022 class, joining Respass and Conti. The Ducks bolstered the defense with the additions of Richards and Solomon, both goalkeepers, as well as defenders Fink and Rolley. McCulloch and Petkovich will join Morales in the midfield.

Oregon is scheduled to open the 2022 season on August 12 by hosting Corban in an exhibition match.

Ainsley Fink, D, Las Vegas, Bishop Gorman High School, Club: Heat FC

The No. 8 player in Nevada (Maxpreps) helped lead Bishop Gorman to a 27-0-1 record as a freshman in 2018 and the Nevada state title. That team was ranked seventh nationally by USA Today. Had a pair of assists on Bishop Gorman’s 18-6-1 team in 2019. Competed for Nevada’s Olympic Development Program in 2017-18 and was an ODP national camp attendee in 2019. Four-time recipient of Bishop Gorman’s scholar-athlete award. Club team Heat FC won the ECNL Southwest Conference championship in 2018 and 2020 and advanced to the ECNL national quarterfinals in 2019. Was also the co-valedictorian for Bishop Gorman. Sister Ashtyn plays soccer for Vanderbilt. Father Brian was on the track and field team at Nebraska.

Caitlyn McCulloch, M, Orinda, Calif., San Ramon Valley High School, Club: Lamorinda Soccer Club

Scored five goals with one assist to help lead San Ramon Valley High School to a 12-6-3 record as a senior. Three of her five goals were game-winners. Named to the East Bay Athletic League second team. U-15 and U-16 national team pool player. Sister Lauren plays soccer for UC Santa Barbara.

Trinity Morales, M, Tucson, Ariz., Salpointe Catholic High School, Club: SC Del Sol

Four-start recruit who is ranked No. 104 nationally (Top Drawer Soccer). The 2021 4A Player of the Year led Salpointe Catholic to two consecutive 4A state titles. Was a first team all-region selection in 2021 and 2022. She also attended the U-19 U.S. Virtual National Team Camp in 2021.

Rieley Petkovich, M, Prescott, Ariz., Prescott High School, Club: SC Del Sol

Helped lead Prescott High School to an 11-1-2 record and the state playoffs as a senior in 2022. All-conference honorable mention. Has four years of Olympic Development Program experience. Uncle Donnie Price played football at Arizona.

Julia Richards, GK Portland, Ore., Liberty High School, Club: FC Portland

The all-state second team goalkeeper and 2021 Pacific League player of the year led Liberty High School to the state playoffs in 2019 and 2021. In 44 matches, had a 0.93 goals against average and made 184 saves. Also ran track, where she was an all-league runner in 100 and 300 hurdles, and was on the varsity swimming team at Liberty. In club competition, led Portland FC to the ECNL national playoffs in 2019 and 2021. Was Liberty’s valedictorian. The recipient of a UO Presidential Scholarship and a UO Summit Scholarship. Named Miss Pioneer Oregon in 2022 and was a Portland Rose Court Metro West Finalist (2021).

Bel Rolley, D, Las Vegas, Nev., Bishop Gorman High School / USC, Club: Heat FC

Transfers to Oregon as a redshirt junior. Played in 25 matches on two NCAA Tournament teams over the last two seasons while making nine starts on defense for USC. Attempted two shots as both a freshman in 2020 and as a sophomore in 2021. Missed the 2019 season (redshirt season) due to an ankle injury. Prior to USC, scored 10 goals with five assists in one season at Bishop Gorman High School. Was named rookie of the year, All-Southwest League, All-Southern Nevada and All-Sunset Region. In club action, led Heat FC to a Southwest Conference title and advanced to the 2017 and 2018 ECNL playoffs. Heat FC was a national quarterfinalist in 2018. Scored 20 goals in club play. Also played for Meremether United in Australia. She lived in Australia from 2008-12, where her mother, Louise, is from.

Anna Solomon, GK, Lafayette, Calif., Campolondo High School, Club: Lamorinda Soccer Club

Helped Lamornida Soccer Club win back-to-back state titles. Was an all-district selection for Campolondo High School after holding down a goals against average of 1.07. Campolondo won the league with a 9-2-1 mark and was 15-3-5 overall. Her grandfather, Andrew Komer, was a record-setting basketball player at Carnegie Mellon.
