MADISON, Wis. – Forward Thomas Raimbault (pronounced RAIM-BOLT) will join the University of Wisconsin men’s soccer program for the coming fall, head coach Neil Jones announced.
“Adding a player of Thomas’ ability to our roster is the cherry on top of what we feel is a very strong and well-rounded class,” Jones said. “Thomas has shown throughout his time at UCLA to be a dangerous attacking player and a goal-scoring threat. He is also a hard-working player on both sides of the ball and someone who puts the team first. With three years of eligibility remaining, we are excited to see what Thomas can add to Wisconsin this coming fall and beyond.”
Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, Raimbault spent his freshman year at UCLA, where he started three of the 15 appearances he made for the Bruins. He scored once during the season, tallying against then-No. 1 Washington. He finished the season with 485 minutes played and recorded 13 shots, including five on goal.
Raimbault played two of UCLA’s three NCAA tournament games during the program’s run to the round of 16 along with fellow Badger transfers Charlie and Nate Crockford.
Before UCLA, Raimbault played club soccer with Vancouver Whitecaps FC and totaled 36 goals across the U17, U19 and U23 age groups. He also attended a New Zealand National Team training camp at the U17 level and a pair of camps at the U20 level.
A 2019 graduate of University Hill Secondary School, located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Raimbault trained at Wellington United Academy before moving to North America from New Zealand.
Born in France, Raimbault also played club soccer with Stade Malherbe Caen in France.
