Which youth clubs have the most U.S. Women’s Youth National Team players? (2022-2023)

In the highly-competitive world of American youth soccer, U.S. Youth National Team roster selections are widely considered the pinnacle of achievement. Earning a USYNT call-up is a huge moment for players as well as the youth clubs that they represent.

Having a player called up to the U.S. Youth Women’s National Team at any age level provides national recognition to the program, often reflecting a club’s commitment to high-level player development.

SoccerWire has accumulated all of the USWYNT rosters since the start of 2022 to see which clubs have had the most success in getting players called up. The data includes players from the U14-U20 teams, dating back to January 2022. (While the U.S. U23 rosters were also eligible for inclusion, no players received call-ups to the U23 level at a time when they were still actively competing for their respective youth clubs.)

Of the 87 clubs that have had at least one USWYNT player call-up, San Diego Surf and Solar SC are neck-and-neck for the most with 19 and 18 players, respectively.

After the nation’s top two clubs accounted for a combined 37 players, New Jersey’s Players Development Academy (PDA) came in third with an impressive 10 players called up to various USWYNT events. Southern California’s Legends FC and the NWSL-affiliated NC Courage Academy round out the Top 5 with eight players each.

A rising force in the Girls Academy, Florida United, is the only club with seven active USWYNT players, closely followed by a pack of six clubs with six apiece: California’s Bay Area Surf, Georgia’s Concorde Fire, Washington’s Crossfire Premier, Ohio’s Internationals SC, California’s Lamorinda SC, Missouri’s St. Louis Scott Gallagher (SLSG) and Texas’ FC Dallas Youth.

Notes:

  • Only National Camps – featuring players from all over the country training at a central location – are eligible for inclusion.
  • Regional ID Camps – exclusively featuring players from a single region – are not included.
  • Players are counted as members of clubs that they were with at the time of each call-up. If they have since moved to a different club, they are still counted on the club that they were on at the time of roster selection.
  • College players who had already graduated high school at the time of their call-ups do not count toward their youth club’s total.
  • While U23 USWYNT rosters are eligible for inclusion, no youth players have received call-ups to the U23 level since the start of 2022.
  • Players shown in the special profile boxes below are members of the SoccerWire Featured Player Program (Learn More Here), or have gone pro in the NWSL since their latest call-up while still playing youth soccer.
  • Roster data runs through the end of May 2023.
