ECNL Girls National Playoffs set to begin in San Diego with 348 total teams

The ECNL Girls National Playoffs have arrived. A total of 348 teams will battle it out in San Diego, California across six age groups, with teams in the Champions League playing for the right to advance to the ECNL Girls National Finals in Richmond, Virginia in July.

The ECNL Girls National Playoffs, the league’s marquee event, will take place over seven days with more collegiate and professional scouts in attendance than any event in youth soccer.

Schedule: Each team competing in San Diego is guaranteed three games against the best teams in the country. Those who advance to the knockout stage in each age group of the Champions League will play a fourth game, vying for a spot in the ECNL Girls National Finals in Richmond. Champions League: In the U13-U17 age groups, 44 teams qualified for the Champions League. At these age groups, 16 teams will advance out of the group stage into a single knockout round in San Diego, with eight winners at each age group advancing to the ECNL Girls National Finals in Richmond, Virginia.

At the U18/19 age group, 16 teams will compete in a single elimination knockout tournament culminating with the U18/19 National Championship Game on June 29th.

North American Cup, Showcase Cup A, Showcase Cup B: The next 48 qualified teams from the U16 and U17 age groups are placed into one of three Cups: the North American Cup, Showcase Cup A, or Showcase Cup B. For the first time, the U15 age group will also have a North American Cup competition this season. Teams qualify for each respective Cup based on their regular season finish. Defending Champions: Five teams head to San Diego this weekend looking to repeat as ECNL National Champions. Solar SC U14s, Solar SC U15s, Slammers FC HB Koge U16s, SLSG Navy U17s, and Real Colorado National U18/19s all lifted National Championship trophies last season and will look to do so again this year. Real Colorado National begin their quest to repeat with a round of 16 showdown against Kansas City Athletics, in hopes that they can advance all the way to the U18/19 National Championship Game on June 29th. The other four teams will look to advance out of their respective group stages and into the round of 16 where they will have a chance to advance to the ECNL Girls National Finals in July, in hopes of keeping their chances to repeat as ECNL National Champions alive.
