Inaugural ECNL Girls Conference Cup to be held in August 2023

The ECNL Girls announced the inaugural ECNL Girls Conference Cup, to be held August 7-11, 2023, at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in California.

The ECNL Conference Cup is an exciting new opportunity for top players within the ECNL Selection Program. Approximately 90 of the top rising U14-U16 girls players from across the country will be placed into six different teams for a mini-game competition played over the course of three days. Each team will combine players from different ECNL Girls Conferences, geographically linked to represent different areas of the country. The top teams from bracket play will meet in the championship game to determine the Conference Cup Champion.

“The Conference Cup will elevate the level of competition within the ECNL National Selection Program this summer,” said ECNL Girls Commissioner, Ralph Richards. “Inviting 90 of the best players from across the country in the rising U14-U16 age groups, along with an excellent coaching staff, will culminate in an exceptional learning and developing experience for all involved.”

The ECNL Conference Cup will be replacing the former ECNL National Training Camp, as the league continues to evolve programming to provide new and unique experiences for the nation’s top players. There is no cost for players to attend the ECNL Conference Cup – upon arrival, the league covers all food, accommodation, ground transportation, staffing, and all other costs.

Schedule: Every team will play five mini-games, with the top two teams meeting in the ECNL Conference Cup Championship.

Teams: The six teams will be formed from players from 11 ECNL Girls Conferences. Players were selected for the Conference Cup by ECNL player identification staff through a combination of scouting and recommendations based on performances over the past several months, including performances in National Selection Games throughout the 2022-23 ECNL National Events.
