Mizzou, Ole Miss and Arkansas players earn weekly awards in the SEC

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) revealed its Players of the Week following the latest week of action in the 2023 NCAA women’s soccer season.

Offensive Player of the Week

KYLEE SIMMONS – MISSOURI
F • So. West Chester, Ohio

Kylee Simmons led the way for Missouri in a 3-2 win at Florida. Simmons was in on all three goals scored by the Tigers. She assisted on the first goal in the 12th minute and then proceeded to score the next two, one from a penalty kick in the 22nd minute and the other in the 49th minute to start the second half. The game marks the second brace for her this season and first five-point match of her career. Simmons leads the conference in points (16). The five points against the Gators is also tied for second in conference single-game point totals this season.

Defensive Player of the Week

SHU OHBA – OLE MISS
GK • Jr. Fujisawa, Japan

Shu Ohba recorded her fourth shutout of the season against LSU in Ole Miss’ 1-0 win. She faced a season-high 22 shots and made seven saves to keep the Tigers off the board. Ohba continues to lead the conference in saves, saves per game, and save percentage while ranking third in goals against average.

Freshman of the Week

BELLA FIELD – ARKANSAS
F • Fr. Leawood, Kan.

Bella Field’s first collegiate goal was a stunner as it came 27 seconds after Grand Canyon tied the match with 53 seconds left in the match. The game-winning goal gave the Hogs a win to close out non-conference play. Against Tennessee, Field came off the bench helped the Razorbacks pressure the Vols by firing off two shots, with one on target.
