ECNL encourages players to ‘turn heads’ at August ID camp on Nike campus
If the players gathered for the 2013 ECNL national camp had any doubts about the level of play, that changed when Tom Sermanni walked into camp. The USWNT head coach made his way to Oregon to speak to the 100 high-school-age players from across the country gathered at Nike World Headquarters on a surprise visit in keeping with the theme of the week, established by the league and immortalized with a Twitter hashtag: “#TurnHeads.”

The U.S. Under-17 Women’s National Team will come together from July 21-31 for its next training camp to be held at in Columbus, Ohio, at Ohio State University. Local forward Mia Gyau (Bethesda Lions; Silver Springs, Md.) was the only Potomac region player to get the invite.
