2011 Icebreaker: Saturday’s action in the U12 Boys’ Black Group

The U12B Black group proved to be a highly competitive one in Saturday’s PWSI Icebreaker tournament, with no teams held scoreless.

VSA Heat 98 Blue leads Flight A with wins in its first two matches, winning 3-2 over Thunder Galaxy and following that with a 5-3 win against ABGC United98 White.

Thunder Galaxy rebounded in its second game with a 1-0 win against VYS Red Bulls, putting both teams in a second place tie at 1-1. VYS Red Bulls won its opening game, 5-3 against ABGC United98 White.

In Flight B, HYS Rovers West is 2-0 after a 3-1 win against Loudoun 98B Black and, in a 10-goal match, Rovers pulled out a 6-4 win over SYC Strikers Gold.

As in Flight A, two teams are tied for second place in Flight B with 1-1 marks.

In their opening game, SYC Strikers Gold defeated LMVS Patriots White 3-2 before falling to HYS Rovers West. LMVS Patriots White is in that second place tie, rebounding from an opening loss to defeat Loudoun 98B Black 4-2.

Each team has one more match in flight play before the top teams in Flights A and B face each other later Sunday in the championship match.
