30 U.S. Youth Soccer ODP players called into U-14 Boys’ National Team Camp
The United States Under-14 Boys’ National Team has called in 38 players for a training camp from May 1-8 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Of the 38 players called into camp, 30 are U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (U.S. Youth Soccer ODP) players.
Head coach Manny Schellscheidt is holding his team’s first camp since a January trip to Mexico. There are 31 players returning from that trip, which was the first international training camp for players born in 1997. Schellscheidt and his coaching staff will guide the team through two training sessions per day and scrimmages. The team will also take in the Major League Soccer game between the Los Angeles Galaxy and New York Red Bulls on Saturday evening.

*Denotes US Youth Soccer ODP player
U.S. Youth Soccer ODP prepares players for selection to the U.S. National Team programs by bringing together the best players from their club teams to compete in state, regional, national and international competitions, mimicking the U.S. National Team system. Players selected to U.S. Youth Soccer ODP are exposed to the nation’s top coaches from collegiate institutions, U.S. Soccer and the professional leagues.
U.S. Youth Soccer ODP, established in 1977, is the original Olympic development program in the United States. It was formed to identify a pool of players in each age group from which a national team could be selected for international competition, to provide high-level training to benefit and enhance the development of players at all levels and, through the use of carefully selected and licensed coaches, develop a mechanism for the exchange of ideas and curriculum to improve all levels of coaching.
Programs exist in each state and with competitions such as the US Youth Soccer ODP Championships, Interregional Training/Competition, Regional Camps and International play.
