ACC Men’s Soccer Championship Bracket revealed after Pitt wins regular season title

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The bracket and seeds for the 2024 ACC Men’s Soccer Championship were announced following the conclusion of regular-season play. The tournament includes all 15 of the league’s men’s soccer programs and kicks off Wednesday, Nov. 6, with first-round matches at seven campus sites

Pitt (12-4-0, 6-2-0 ACC) claimed its first outright ACC regular-season title and earned the tournament’s No. 1 seed for the second time in program history and for the first time since 2021. The Panthers also locked up the tournament’s lone bye and will open play on Sunday.

ACC Network features two matches on Wednesday evening. Reigning ACC and NCAA champion Clemson (11-2-3, 5-2-1) notched the No. 2 seed and plays No. 15 seed Louisville (6-6-4, 0-5-3) at 6 p.m. ET, and No. 9 seed Virginia (8-5-3, 3-3-2) visits NC State (8-3-5, 3-3-2) at 8 p.m. ET. NC State, Virginia and Notre Dame finished with identical 3-3-2 records and 11 points in league play, and the Wolfpack claimed the highest seed, winning the tiebreaker on goal differential in league play, while UVA and Notre Dame followed with the No. 9 and 10 seeds, respectively.

Making its ACC Championship debut, California (6-7-2, 2-4-2) travels to No. 6 seed North Carolina (9-3-4, 4-3-1) for a 6 p.m. first-round match on Wednesday. At 7 p.m. ET, No. 14 seed Virginia Tech (7-5-4, 1-5-2) plays at No. 3 seed Duke (10-2-4, 4-1-3) and No. 12 seed Syracuse (7-6-3, 2-4-2) visits No. 5 seed Wake Forest (8-4-5, 4-2-2). At 8 p.m. ET, No. 4 seed SMU (9-2-5, 4-2-2) begins its first ACC Championship by welcoming No. 13 seed Boston College (5-4-6, 1-4-3). No. 7 seed Stanford (8-4-4, 3-2-3) caps off the evening by playing host to Notre Dame (7-4-5, 3-3-2) at 9 p.m. ET in the Cardinal’s first ACC Tournament match in program history. All five of these matches will air on ACC Network Extra.

ACC Network will broadcast all four quarterfinal matches on Sunday, Nov. 10, beginning at 2 p.m. ET. Top-seeded Pitt plays in the nightcap when it entertains the NC State-Virginia winner at 8 p.m. ET.

The semifinals will be played Thursday, November 14, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, with the matches airing on ACC Network at 5:30 and 8 p.m. ET. The championship match will be broadcast from WakeMed Soccer Park on ESPNU on Sunday, November 17, at noon ET.

Clemson is the tournament’s reigning champion. Following a 1-1 draw, the Tigers defeated North Carolina for the 2023 ACC title, earning their 16th ACC Championship in program history, including their fifth tournament title.

In the latest NCAA RPI release from Friday, nine ACC teams are among the top 40, most of any league. Pitt ranked No. 1 nationally in the RPI and was followed by North Carolina (3), Duke (5), Stanford (8), NC State (12), Clemson (14), SMU (20), Notre Dame (33) and Virginia (36).

ACC teams have won 20 NCAA men’s soccer championships, including 11 since 2001, and each of the last three with Clemson (2021 and 2023) and Syracuse (2022).
