Arizona NPL hosts first PDP featuring 57 players from six clubs
CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Via US Club Soccer) – Fifty-seven players participated in the Player Development Program (PDP) event hosted by the Arizona NPL, which was the first PDP hosted by the new league. All six clubs in the Arizona NPL were represented.
The PDP targeted 2003-04 boys and 2002-03 girls and was held at Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Ariz. Top performers were invited to the next id2 Training Camp, to be held Dec. 8-11 at the same venue.
Staff coaches were: David Belfort (Arizona Arsenal), George Okallo (CCV Stars), Ollie Richardson (Scottsdale Soccer) and Doug Shank (Scottsdale Soccer).
PDPs are regionally based identification and developmental programs conducted within the id2 Program umbrella. PDPs are focused around the NPL and other top leagues in specific geographic areas.
PDP invitations are based upon objective scouting of elite clubs and leagues, combined with recommendations from top Directors of Coaching. Each PDP includes at least one training session and one internal competition.
