Arlington Soccer Association appoints Mo Tayari as Director of Coaching
ARLINGTON, Va. – Arlington Soccer Association Technical Director German Peri has announced the promotion of Mo Tayari to Director of Coaching.
Tayari, who has been with the club since 2006, will oversee all coaches and age group directors in the travel program and Arlington Futures U7/U8 program, providing guidance to help strengthen Arlington Soccer’s player development.
“With Mo’s extensive experience with the club, his work as the Director of Coaching will support the travel program’s ongoing improvement,” Peri said. “Mo has been a staple in Arlington’s travel soccer program for 16 years and he will continue to be a great resource for our coaches, while, in turn, helping our players reach their maximum potential.”
Tayari played professionally in Tunisia for eight years prior to starting his coaching career with Arlington Soccer in 2006 as an assistant coach. Over the last 16 years, he has gained experience and demonstrated leadership while working with all age groups and levels of teams in the program. He is currently the Youth Director and Super Y Director in addition to the head coach of the U14 Girls ECNL team and the Arlington Futures U7/U8 program director. He also serves as a senior coach for the club’s camp and clinics.
Tayari has been named a US Youth Soccer (USYS) region coach of the year, a finalist for national coach of the year and Virginia Youth Soccer Association coach of the year. During his time at Arlington Soccer, he has coached boys and girls teams to eight Virginia State Cup championships. His 2004 girls team captured a 2017 Super Y League national championship and a 2018 USYS Eastern Regional League championship. His former players have played collegiately at the NCAA Division I, II and III levels, landed on USYS Olympic Development Pools and been selected for national teams.
“I am very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to the challenge,” Tayari said. “Over the past 16 years, I have been fortunate to be part of the Arlington Soccer family. Our club strives to help our players achieve their short-term and long-term player development goals. I am excited to continue to work with German and our outstanding technical staff to build and strengthen our program and support our players in their endeavors.”
