Baltimore Armour defender David Ogbonna signs with Villanova University

VILLANOVA, Pa. – David Ogbonna, a back from Maryland who played club soccer for Baltimore Armour will enroll at Villanova next month and join the Wildcats’ 2020-21 roster.

“David is an elite athlete from a phenomenal family,” stated head coach Tom Carlin. “We are very excited to add such a talented player this late in the recruiting season. David’s ability to cover ground on the flank from the outside back position will solidify our needs for the 2020-21 roster at that position.”

This news brings to 10 the total of announced Villanova newcomers for 2020-21. Ogbonna, who attended Blake High School in Silver Spring, Md., joins graduate transfers Evan Koenig and Sindri Bjornsson along with incoming freshmen Akinjide Awujo, Jack Bonas, Dominic Cyriacks, Jorge Garcia, Branden Johns, Owen Kulick and Luke Pompliano.
