Baltimore Celtic SC, FC Frederick teams excel in Maryland State Cup Finals
The Maryland State Cup U-12 through U-17 finals took place on Sunday at the Maryland SoccerPlex. Three Baltimore Celtic SC teams – U-13 Darby, U-14 Dynasty and U-16 Baltimore Celtic SC – captured titles on the boys side, outscoring opponents by a combined scoreline of 8-0. Five FC Frederick teams advanced to the finals, with the U-13 and U-15 girls winning championships.
Three other clubs – Maryland United, Bethesda SC and Arundel SA – each advanced two or more teams to the finals as well winning one apiece. The Maryland United North 02 Red girls took the U-12 title with an exciting overtime win over Bethesda SC Blue, the Bethesda SC Blue U-12 Boys defeated Fruitland SC Fire 6-0 and Arundel SA Azzurri won their third Maryland State Cup championship, beating DC Stoddert Metros 98 Blue 2-1.
