Best XI revealed from USYS Girls National League Regional Showcase New Jersey
EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI from last weekend’s US Youth Soccer National League Regional Showcase New Jersey 2023.
The Girls Best XI from the USYS National League Regional Showcase New Jersey 2023 are:
#17 Emily Dendis – STA-MUSC 2004/2005 NL EDP
The Shenandoah University commit scored two goals and added two assists to lead the team to an unbeaten weekend as they prepare to head to USYS Nationals this Summer.
#44 Sofia Mignon – Warrington FC United 2005
Sofia was once again the engine of the team on Sunday when they scored eight goals in two games. Sophia is instrumental in the teams ball movement as she continually helped them penetrate the opposing teams’ back line. Her 1v1 play in the middle of the field is exceptional and her ability to work off the ball continuously in every game was impressive.
#13 Harley Karbiner – FC Europa 2004 Elite
Harley Karbiner helped lead the team to the first place finish this weekend. She was a beast this weekend, playing striker, winger and defender throughout the three games. She had one goal and two assists to help FC Europa clinch the championship.
#10 Mia Abbey – RUSA 2006 Gold
Mia scored two goals this weekend and was a catalyst in the center of the field. Leading her team to an undefeated weekend and also winning their National League P.R.O. bracket this year as the final game on Sunday also was also the teams National League P.R.O. 7th game.
#5 Renata Cicela – NJ Premier FC 2006
Renata’s ability to press the opponents back line and make great runs into the box helped her stand out, which resulted in numerous opportunities and two goals over the weekend for her.
#8 Kendall Popp – Keystone Athletic 2006 Black
Kendall had five goals and three assists during the event. She was a big part of a great team performance that scored 12 and conceded two in their three games. In all three games, Kendall excelled. She was a problem for the opposition’s defenses with her skills, speed, and aggression. She was a fantastic team player who got other teammates involved.
#49 Beatrice Siniscalco – NT Nitros 2007 OPDL
Beatrice’s performance this weekend was exceptional with her ability to turn defenders, be elusive in and around the box to create goal-scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. With her individual skill she made it very hard for the opponents to mitigate the challenges she posed. Beatrice was able to produce two goals and three assists over the three matches.
#11 Remi Wicken – West Deptford Fury 2007
Remi scored one goal and had three assists over the weekend while playing forward. Remi worked hard and was solid in the back. She helped her team shut down some very talented and fast-attacking players. Her distribution and composure in the back helped secure a nice win over a solid team.
#20 Paige Wagner – NJ Surf South Shore 07
Paige was consistent in the middle of the field over the weekend. Her work rate was instrumental in helping her team dominate at critical moments in the games played.
#17 Mayla Maclean – STA MOSC 2007
Mayla was a big part of having a successful tournament for STA MOSC. She was the catalyst for their attack that scored three goals and one assist. Playing at left wing and center forward she used her technical ability to beat players on the dribble and scored a header, a shot from outside the 18-yard box and a calm close range finish.
#12 Gabriella Fadel – Glen Shields Juventus FC 2008
Gabriella led the team in scoring the entire weekend by scoring five goals in three games and assisting on one of the other four goals. Gabriella’s speed and offensive skills made it extremely difficult for her opponents to mark and shut down. Making the proper runs at the right moments along with her dribbling skills to beat the opponent 1v1 was a difference maker in the match helping the team finish first and winning the top tier group.
