Bethesda SC enters strategic partnership with Great Falls SC
Bethesda Soccer Club has announced a strategic partnership with Great Falls Soccer Club of Virginia. In this relationship, both clubs will continue to attract top talent in Northern Virginia, Maryland and D.C., focusing on a training environment which will include a shared soccer curriculum, coaching education and field locations.
This partnership allows youth players to attend Bethesda Soccer Club’s year-round training and summer camps, while top players can move to Bethesda’s Development Academy in later years. Coaches can attend Professional Development Training and share curriculum and training methods. Bethesda SC’s ‘South’ Teams will also have use of top field locations in Northern Virginia.
“This is a great pathway for youth players in Northern Virginia,” explained Jonathon Colton, Director of Coaching for Bethesda Soccer Club, “as this collaboration is a role model moving forward for top players to receive excellent training and advance to the next level of play.”

“The phrase ‘youth development’ is often used by clubs to describe an aspect of their program, but true player development requires a nurturing, patient environment that also provides motivation for players to improve,” Great Falls Soccer Club’s Technical Director Radovan Pletka stated, “As a purist and a true fan of soccer, I believe in relationships to advance a cause.
Pletka further explains, “In looking at local clubs we could partner with to provide such an environment, I’m proud that the only fully accredited U.S. Soccer Federation Club in the area saw the potential in Great Falls Soccer Club, a progressive club that has outlined a set of beliefs and a new vision that aligns with the Bethesda Soccer Club way.”
“This partnership between Bethesda Soccer and Great Falls Soccer will prove to be a great step in developing the next generation of elite youth soccer players in the area. Looking ahead, Bethesda Soccer Club’s Bethesda South Teams and coaching staff are proud to welcome Great Falls to the Bethesda family as we share top notch fields, curriculum and coaching techniques.”
