Brown University announces signing of Olivia Hall and Madeline Templeton

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown Women’s Soccer Head Coach Kia McNeill announced the addition of Olivia Hall and Madeline Templeton to the program.

Hall joins the Bears as a standout defender from Purdue University, where her tenacity and skill on the field earned her recognition as a formidable force in collegiate soccer. Known for her heart-on-sleeve style of play, Hall brings invaluable leadership and experience to bolster Brown’s defensive line. Her presence is expected to fortify the team’s defensive strategy and contribute significantly to their competitive edge this fall.

Templeton is an incoming freshman with an impressive track record as the captain of her ECNL team, NC Fusion. Templeton’s exceptional leadership qualities and record-setting achievements with her club and high school teams reflect her commitment to excellence and align perfectly with Brown’s championship culture.

OLIVIA HALL
Defender | 5’7″ | Overland Park, Kansas | Purdue

Hall, a junior transfer from Purdue, was named 2023 Academic All-Big Ten and Academic All-District. She started all 18 games last season after collecting six starts as a true freshman in 2022. An Overland Park, Kan. native, she helped lead Blue Valley Southwest High School to a state final. She was recognized with EKL honorable mention accolades.

PLANNED CONCENTRATION: Public Health

WHY BROWN: “I chose Brown because being on campus felt like home. The university is beautiful, and everyone I met was great. Also, the rigorous academics and competitive soccer environment are a perfect fit for me.”

MADELINE TEMPLETON
Midfielder | 5’5″ | Winston-Salem, N.C. | Forsyth Country Day School

Madeline Templeton was a four-time PTAC All-Conference selection for Forsyth Country Day School in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was a three-time North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association Private All-State honoree and two-time PTAC Conference Player of the Year. She plays club soccer in the ECNL for NC Fusion.

PLANNED CONCENTRATION: Undecided

WHY BROWN: “The incredible open curriculum and congenial feeling that exudes from Brown’s community made choosing to become a Bear a no-brainer.”
