Bucknell women’s soccer adds defender Eva Frankovic on transfer from Pitt

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell University head women’s soccer coach Kelly Cook has announced the addition of Eva Frankovic to the 2002 squad.

Frankovic, a 5’7″ center back from North Huntingdon, Pa., comes to Bucknell as a transfer from the University of Pittsburgh, where she appeared in 15 games over the last two seasons for the Panthers.

“Eva is an excellent athlete with great pace,” said Cook. “She brings a wealth of experience having played and trained at the ACC level. She is a vocal center back who will bring a strong presence and solid 1v1 defending to our back line.”

Frankovic saw action in seven games for Pitt as a reserve last fall, playing a season-high 45 minutes at Duke. She was part of a Panthers’ squad that finished 11-7 overall and 4-6 in the challenging ACC.

Frankovic will be joining a Bucknell team that captured the Patriot League championship in the fall. The Bison defense posted three straight shutouts over Lehigh, Navy, and Boston University in the Patriot League Tournament, and then turned in a strong effort in a 2-0 loss to eventual national semifinalist Rutgers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Two of the four starting defenders from that postseason run – Claire Mensi and Alana Carlucci – are graduating.

Bucknell previously announced the addition of six newcomers in the 2022 recruiting class.
