Cal State Fullerton announces 10-player women’s soccer recruiting class
FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton women’s soccer head coach Demian Brown announced that eight student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to join the program for the upcoming 2023-24 academic year and two additional players have transferred into the program from other schools.
“I am very excited about this group of incoming freshmen and transfers. We decided to bring in a smaller class and truly focus on high quality players. I feel that we have added some great soccer players but more importantly amazing young women. We anticipate each of these talented soccer players to factor in our team’s success this season,” said Brown.

Savannah Alviso
Midfielder | Eastvale, Calif. | John F. Kennedy Middle College High School
Savannah is on track to graduate from John F. Kennedy Middle College High School in the spring of 2023. She played High School soccer at Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
She is the daughter of Cal State Fullerton Soccer alumni and kinisiology lecturer, Barbie-Gil Alviso.
“Savannah is a hard working and skillful center mid. She has an engine that will allow her to get all over the field. Her soccer IQ is extremely high and she will increase our soccer possession in the midfield” said Brown.
Sail Bozinovic
Midfielder | San Diego, Calif. | San Diego High School
Sail is on track to graduate from San Diego High School in the spring of 2023 as a three-year letter winner with the women’s soccer team. Bozinovic was named to the All-League First Team her sophomore and Junior year, the best midfielder (sophomore year), the team MVP (junior year), the team captain (junior and senior year), and scored the most goals/assists her sophomore and junior year. She was also a member of the honor roll since her freshman year. She played club soccer for City SC GA in the Girls Academy League under Head Coach Jeff Hughes.
She was born in San Diego, Calif. to Goran and Liisa and has four siblings named Kesten, Kaya, Noah, and Zoe. She plans on pursuing a degree in Public Health at Cal State Fullerton.
“I chose Cal State Fullerton because of the amazing team culture at the school,” said Bozionovic.
“Sail is a creative and skillful attacking midfielder. She will definitely add a spark in the attacking part of the field. Her ability to provide the final pass or get herself into goal scoring positions is at an incredibly high level” said Brown.
Skye Johnson
Defender | Newport Beach, Calif. | Mater Dei High School
Skye is on track to graduate from Mater Dei High School in the spring of 2023 as a three-year letter winner with the women’s soccer team. Her team was named the Trinity League CHampions in 2020, 2021, and 2022. She was named to the second team All-Trinity league her sophomore year and to the first team All-Trinity League her junior year was named the team’s defensive MVP her junior year. She was named to the principal’s honor roll all four years of high school and a member of the California Scholarship Federation and National Honors Society. She played club soccer for Slammers FC in the ECNL under head coach Andy Winn. They were the ECNL PLayoffs Showcase Cub B Finalist and she was named to the ECNL Second Team All-Southwest Conference.
She was born in Newport Beach, Calif. to Duane and Veronica Johnson and has one older sister, Victoria. She plans on pursuing a degree in Kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton.
“I chose Cal State Fullerton because I wanted to join the women’s soccer program at Fullerton,” said Johnson.
“Skye is a center back with the skill set of a creative center midfielder. She will add to our strength at the center back at the same time providing distribution for our attack. Her height and athleticism will definitely increase our dominance in attacking set pieces.” said head coach Demian Brown.
Kaylee Noble
Forward | Lakewood, Calif. | Los Alamitos High School
Kaylee is on track to graduate from Los Alamitos High School in the spring of 2023 as a three-year letter winner with the women’s soccer team. She was the team captain of the Griffins her senior year. Played club soccer for Slammers F.C. in the ECRL under head coach Louis Segovia. They were the ECRL National Champs in 2022.
She was born in Long Beach, Calif. to Jeff and Wendi and has two siblings Joey and Jayden. She plans on pursuing a degree in Nursing at Cal State Fullerton.
“I chose Cal State Fullerton because she liked the social life on campus and being able to play close to home,” said Noble.
“Kaylee will bring speed, aggressiveness and a goal scoring attitude to our attack. She has the physical ability to hold balls in the attack and the skill level to beat players in 1v1 situations to score goals,” said Brown.
Kyah Otholt
Defender | San Diego, Calif. | Rancho Bernardo High School
Kyah is on track to graduate from Rancho Bernardo High School in the spring of 2023 as a varsity member of the soccer and track and field team. She was named the team captain here Junior and Senior year and was named to the All-Conference first team her senior year. Her team was the first team in school history to go 10-0 in league history and have been Track League champions every year she was there. She was also named the track captain her senior year. She holds the freshman record for fastest 100 meter female dash in school history at 12.8 seconds.
She was born in San Diego, Calif. to Greg Otholt and Leilani Blalock. She has one younger sibling, Riley. She plans on pursuing a degree in Kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton.
“I chose Cal State Fullerton because I felt the family atmosphere of the team and instantly connected with my future teammates the moment I met them,” said Otholt.
“Kyah will add speed and 1v1 defending to our backline. She is going to also add an element of speed and service to our attack from wide positions” said head coach Demian Brown.
Kya Parke
Defender | Plain City, Utah | Fremont High School
Kya graduated from Fremont High School in the winter of 2022 as a three-year letter winner with the women’s soccer team. She was named to the all-state team her sophomore year, the defensive MVP her junior year, the team captain her senior year, and all-stage first team her senior year.She played club soccer for La Roca ECNL under head coach Pancho Ovalle. They were the 2021 Far West Region Champion and the 2021 USYS National Champions.
She was born in Ogden, Utah to Kelly and Liane and has two siblings Macy and Bo. She is currently undeclared on what she plans to major in at Cal State Fullerton.
“I chose Cal State Fullerton because she wanted an out of state experience, loved the coaching staff, and loved the location of the school,” said Parke.
“Kya’s a solid center back with the tenacity and strength to step into our defensive back line. Her commitment to join the program in the spring will only speed up her readiness to make a major impact” said Brown.
Gracie Paton
Forward | La Cañada Flintridge, Calif. | La Cañada High School
Gracie is on track to graduate from La Cañada High School in the spring of 2023 as a three-year letter winner with the women’s soccer team. She was named first team honorable mention her freshman year, she was named to the all-conference first team her sophomore year, and was named captain of the varsity team her senior year. She also won the best track newcomer award her sophomore year. She set the school record for goals scored in a season in her sophomore year. She won the Rio Hondo League her freshman and sophomore year of high school. Her track team also won the league and she came in third place individually in the 400 meters. Her 4 x 400 team won league and she made it to CIF in soccer and track.
She was born in La Cañada Flintridge, Calif. to Frank and Hailey and has one sibling Eli who plays baseball at Grand Canyon University. She plans on pursuing a degree in Kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton.
“I chose Cal State Fullerton because of the Fullerton women’s soccer team reputation and the academic excellence of the school. Everyone at Cal State Fullerton is very inclusive and supportive with everything they do. I also wanted to go to school in California,” said Paton.
“Grace will add a left sided option to our attack. She has the speed, work rate and technical ability to beat players 1v1 to go to goal or provide service for other attacking players” said Brown.
Sage Webb
Goalkeeper | Carlsbad, Calif. | Carlsbad High School
Sage is on track to graduate from Carlsbad High School in the spring of 2023 as a three-year letter winner with the women’s soccer team. She was named to the CIF First Team, MVP, and Player of the Year her junior year. She was named the Team Captain her senior year. She led her team to the CIF Semi-Finals her sophomore and junior year. She holds the school record for least amount of goals allowed in a season that she set in junior year.
She was born in West Covina, Calif. to Darrington and Amber and has one sibling, Blake. She plans on pursuing a degree in Film Making at Cal State Fullerton.
“I chose Cal State Fullerton because the atmosphere of the team is incredible and the bond between coaches, staff, and players is so inclusive. Everyone at Fullerton is kind, uplifting, and always pumped up,” said Webb.
“Sage is a talented and motivated goalkeeper. She has great range in the box and is extremely brave in critical situations. She will benefit everyday in training from our existing GK core and position herself for playing time,” said Brown.
Laurie Ann Moïse
Forward | Montreal, Canada| Texas Tech University
Laurie Ann transferred from Texas Tech University after spending one fall season there in 2022. She appeared in 10 games and had 3 shots. Laurie Ann graduated from Vanier College where she played under head coach Nichola Razzaghi. She was a two-time Quebec Player of the Week and two time Canadian Player of the Week. She was named to the Canadian All-Star team. She played club soccer for FC Laval where she helped lead the team to a national championship.
“Laurie Ann is an athletic and aggressive center forward. Her creativity on the ball matched with her powerful left foot will make her a definite threat in our attack,” said Brown.
Taya Townsell
Defender | Chino Hills, Calif. | University of New Mexico
Taya transferred from the University of Mexico in the winter of 2022 after spending one and half seasons in Albuquerque. Her team won the conference in 2021. Taya graduated from Ayala High School in 2021 and played three years on the varsity team where she was the team MVP her senior year. She played club soccer for Arsenal, Strikers, Legends, and Rebels and her last coach was Randy Brown.
She was born in Whittier, Calif. to Jason and Brandy Townsell and has two siblings Brandon and Josh. She plans on pursuing a degree in Business at Cal State Fullerton.
She decided to transfer to Cal State Fullerton because “she is a Californian at heart and it was important to be close to her family and friends. Fullerton offered the opportunity for her to excel on and off the field,” said Townsell.
“Taya is a hard nose and focused defender. She will have the opportunity to step into the center back position for the Titans. Her defending and athleticism will be a great addition to our young defensive core” said Brown.
