(Via Richmond Strikers Tournaments) – The 2017 Capital Fall Classic is set to kickoff on Saturday with the start of the first ever Recreational Weekend.
In the first edition of the recently expanded three weekend tournament, the Rec Weekend will feature only in-house teams from the Richmond Strikers as well as the Chesterfield Strikers organizations.
The boys side will include competition in the U-11, U-12, U-14, U-16 and U-19 age groups, with 58 total teams.
A total of 36 teams across the U-11, U-12, U-14 and High School age groups will compete on the girls side.
All games will be played on natural grass and turf fields at Striker Park and the West Creek Soccer Complex.
Following the Rec Weekend, the Capital Fall Classic will continue with the Boys Weekend from November 11-12 and will conclude with the Girls Weekend from November 18-19.
The largest edition of the tournament to date will feature a record 529 teams over the course of the three weekends. The fall end-of-season event annually hosts a wide variety of teams from throughout the East Coast and beyond, providing teams with unfamiliar opponents, tactics and playing styles.
