Carrie Kveton hired as U.S. U-19 Women’s Youth National Team head coach
CHICAGO – U.S. Soccer has appointed Carrie Kveton as the new head coach of the U.S. Under-19 Women’s Youth National Team.
“We’re excited to welcome Carrie to our full-time Women’s Youth National Team coaching staff,” said USWNT General Manager Kate Markgraf. “She brings a wealth of experience at top clubs abroad and in NWSL, as well as a strong background in youth development. We’ve been impressed with her work at previous U.S. Soccer training camps and we’re confident she can help our top talents take the next step in their careers.”
As part of an integrated WYNT coaching staff, Kveton will work across age groups with a focus on the U-19 WYNT.
Kveton has coached at the highest club levels in both her native Denmark and the United States. She will officially join U.S. Soccer this July from FC Nordsjaelland, where she serves as Head of Individual Player Development and U-18 women’s head coach.

She previously spent seven years at top Danish club Fortuna Hjørring, including five-and-a-half seasons as head coach/co-head coach, and led the team to several league and cup championships as well as the knockout rounds of the UEFA Women’s Champions League each season in charge. Kveton holds a UEFA Pro Coaching License.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity with U.S. Soccer, it’s an honor and a privilege to wear the crest and all it stands for,” said Kveton. “The USA has an incredible amount of talent and to support these young women in reaching their highest potential on the pitch is a major responsibility. I look forward to helping further their development as they look forward to future successes on the National Team.”
In the USA, Kveton served as an assistant for the Washington Spirit during its National Women’s Soccer League championship run in 2021. She was also an assistant for OL Reign during the 2020 NWSL campaign. Additionally, she has prior experience with U.S Soccer, serving as head coach of the U-23 WYNT for its February friendlies against France at Clairefontaine and leading the April U-19 WYNT training camp in North Carolina. She’s also served as an assistant with the U-18 and U-19 WYNTs and has scouted European competition for the senior USWNT.
