Cindy Cone to run unopposed for U.S. Soccer Vice President
CHICAGO (Via U.S. Soccer) – Former U.S. Women’s National Team forward and National Soccer Hall of Fame inductee Cindy Cone is the lone candidate to have completed the nomination process for the 2019 U.S. Soccer Vice-Presidential election.
The election will take place at the National Council Meeting during U.S. Soccer’s Annual General Meeting on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The new Vice-President will assume the office vacated by Carlos Cordeiro who was elected U.S. Soccer President last February at the 2018 U.S. Soccer AGM.

Because this election is to fill a vacancy, the term of the newly elected Vice President will last one year – thus finishing the current term – until the 2020 National Council Meeting at which the next Vice-Presidential election will be held to elect a candidate to a full, four-year term.
The nomination process (detailed in Policy 401-1) kicked off in November and the deadline for potential candidates to submit the requirements was Tuesday, Dec. 18.
