BOULDER — Head coach Danny Sanchez and Colorado Soccer announced the addition of three transfers for the 2024 season. The Buffaloes have added Michaela Rosenbaum (UCLA), Laura Gouvin (Boston College) and Sami Fisher (Florida) for the upcoming season.

Rosenbaum and Gouvin will have one year of eligibility, while Fisher has four years remaining. Gouvin and Fisher have already enrolled and joined the Buffs in their spring training sessions. Rosenbaum is finishing up at UCLA and will join the team this fall.

“We are very excited to add these fantastic student-athletes to our roster for 2024,” Sanchez noted. “They each bring great experience and quality to our program.”

Rosenbaum, a midfielder from Santa Rosa, Calif., played four years for the Bruins and was a part of the team’s 2022 national championship. She started a total of 20 matches and played in 64 career games at UCLA. Rosenbaum played in 14 matches last season and recorded two goals, the first of her career. She combined for eight points in her four years, recording four assists in 2021. She began her career as a converted defender in the 2020 season, contributing to seven shutouts and earning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week (Mar. 23, 2020).

A graduate of Montgomery H.S., Rosenbaum represented the U.S. on the U16 Women’s National Team in Germany in 2017 and has made training camp rosters for the U.S. Youth National Teams from U14 through U20. She was ranked the No. 37 recruit by Top Drawer Soccer in her class.

“We really love Micky’s versatility,” Sanchez commented. “Obviously, we are very familiar with her qualities, having competed against her the last four years. Micky has extensive experience starting as an outside back and as a midfielder. She will fit seamlessly into our culture and bring a winning pedigree to the squad.”

Gouvin, a midfielder from Monson, Mass., started 58 of her 67 career matches at BC. She started 15 matches and played in 16 last season, recording two assists. Gouvin had back-to-back six-point seasons to start her career as an Eagle. She scored two goals and had two assists as a freshman in 2020 and then followed up with a three-goal season as a sophomore.

Gouvin played club soccer for FSA FC for six years and was a four-year varsity player at Miss Porter’s School. She set a program record in assists (41) and helped Miss Porter’s to a 68-6-9 record. She served as team captain in 2019 and also earned All-American, All-New England and All-Stat honors.

“Laura comes to Boulder after a fantastic four-year starting career at Boston College,” Sanchez added. “She brings a calming leadership to the midfield. Laura is a true box-to-box midfielder, who can also play in the back. It will be great having her with the squad this spring.”

Fisher, a midfielder from Scottsdale, Ariz., did not appear in a match in her lone season as a Gator. A graduate of Chaparral High School, she was the 2020-21 Arizona 6A Interscholastic Association (AIA) State Player of the Year and a finalist for the 2020-21 Gatorade Player of the Year. She scored 41 goals and had 21 assists as a junior and added 14 goals and five assists in eight matches her senior season. Fisher was a 2022-23 All-Arizona honorable mention by the Arizona Republic. She played club for Phoenix Rising ECNL and was a four-star recruit and the TDS’s 13th-ranked player in the Southwest-Rocky Mountain region. Fisher was No. 140 in the IMG Top 150.

“Sami is a player that we heavily recruited out of high school. She is a very versatile attacker who can play up top or in any attacking role. Sami has something to prove and will really develop in our program, starting this spring.”

Colorado recently got back to training as the spring season approaches. The Buffaloes will play a handful of spring matches that will be announced at a later date.
