CONCACAF, Twitter announce live stream partnership

Miami (Via CONCACAF) – The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) and Twitter announced today a partnership to live stream the final match of the 2016/17 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, to be played between Mexican sides Tigres UANL and C.F. Pachuca on Wednesday, April 26 at 10 pm Est, as well as the knock-out rounds and final match of the Men’s Under-17 Championship, currently underway in Panama.

The matches will be available in English for free to logged-in and logged-out Twitter users via @CONCACAF on Twitter and connected devices in the United States and Canada, as well as all other countries and territories outside Latin America. The finals of the CONCACAF Champions League will be the first global live football championship ever streamed on the platform.

Twitter will also live stream the CONCACAF Champions League Final pregame show in the 30 minutes leading up to the April 26 game starting at 9:30 pm EST.

The Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League is an annual club championship played among the region’s top teams, from across the Confederation. The 2016/17 edition of the tournament kicked off in August of 2016, with 24 teams vying for the title. The winner of the Champions League represents the Confederation in the annual FIFA Club World Cup.

The CONCACAF Under-17 Championship, underway in Panama through May 7th, includes top youth teams from around the region. The knock-out rounds and the final match will be live streamed on Twitter via @CONCACAF in territories worldwide outside the Caribbean.
