Dallas Cup enters new era with expanded girls divisions for 2025 event

DALLAS, Texas – Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in North America, is set to enter a new era as it expects a historic tournament this April.
In addition to a record number of boys teams, the 2025 Dallas Cup marks a significant milestone for the tournament as it continues to significantly grow its girls’ divisions, following the acquisition of the Dallas International Girls Cup this past summer.
Having been a cornerstone of elite boys’ youth soccer since its inception in 1980, Dallas Cup reintroduced girls’ divisions in 2021. Despite an initial uphill climb to establish the girls’ component, the tournament has quickly gained momentum. In 2025, Dallas Cup expects over 180 girls’ teams to compete for the prestigious Boot & Ball championship trophy across ten age groups (U10-U19), solidifying its status as a premier destination for girls youth soccer talent.
As one of the most internationally diverse annual events in Dallas, the tournament’s motto, “Welcome World,” rings true again this year. Dallas Cup historically welcomes more than 30 countries annually, between participating teams and world-class referees, and the 2025 girls’ divisions will feature representation from at least nine nations.
Among the highlights of this year’s girls’ competition are several top teams from the Oceania region. The U17 Samoa Girls National Team will make their tournament debut after earning a place in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025™ by finishing as runners-up in the OFC U16 Women’s Championship. Additionally, the Australian School Girls will return to defend their U19 title, having made history in 2024 as the first international girls’ team to win a Dallas Cup championship. The New Zealand Secondary Schools Football Association will also field a competitive girls’ team, furthering the region’s growing presence at Dallas Cup.
At the professional club level, the tournament is pleased to welcome back Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt U-17 girls’ team. A pioneer for international girls’ participation at Dallas Cup, this will mark the club’s fourth consecutive appearance in the tournament. They will aim to build upon their runner-up finish in the U17 division at the 2024 Dallas Cup.
Additionally, teams from England, the Philippines, Mexico, Canada, and the United States will compete, showcasing the tournament’s growing global appeal.
With over 180 girls’ teams converging in Dallas this April, the Dallas Cup has firmly established itself as a premier stage for elite girls’ soccer. Combined with the more than 300 boys’ teams set to compete, the tournament will feature close to 500 teams battling for the iconic Boot & Ball trophy, making the 2025 edition one of the most exciting in tournament history.
The 2025 Dallas Cup will be played from April 13 through April 20. Fans and teams can learn more about the tournament by visiting www.DallasCup.org or following @dallascup on social media.
