Dallas Texans SC begins partnership with Spanish club Atlético Madrid

(Via Dallas Texans SC) – The Dallas Texans Soccer Club has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with the historic Club Atlético de Madrid. Founded in 1903, Club Atlético de Madrid has 112 years of history. It is one of the most highly decorated clubs in the world, and indisputably in Spain.

In its recent history, the Club has been showing a great dominance on the field being able to play nine finals and to win seven titles, which makes the last five years a memorable period in the History of Club Atlético de Madrid, full of achievements and remarkable records, including: two Europa Leagues, two UEFA Supercup, one Spanish Kings Cup, one La Liga title and one Spanish Supercup.

atletico-madridThe partnership will allow Texans coaches to spend time in Madrid every year observing training at Atletico de Madrid’s youth academy. In addition, Atletico de Madrid coaches will visit the Dallas Texans club every year to conduct coaches’ clinics for staff and to train Texans players.

Nike, the major sponsor of the Texans and Atletico de Madrid, was instrumental in the creation of this relationship.

“International partnerships are becoming increasingly important for us,” said Hassan Nazari, Founder and Executive Director of the Dallas Texans. “More and more American players are playing professionally in Europe, so we want to give our players an avenue to sign with the European clubs. But even for our players who want to go on and play in college, the exposure of our coaches and players to the European style of play is extremely beneficial, especially from the country and culture that has been European and World champions.”
