Davidson College women’s soccer 2020 recruiting class unveiled

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson College women’s soccer head coach Adam Denton announced the recruiting class for 2024 as they will join the program for this coming Fall season in 2020.

“The staff and current players are all really looking forward to the arrival of the 2024 class to Davidson College family,” said head coach Adam Denton. “This recruiting class will continue to bring more depth and positional versatility to our team. Our incoming players will bring an individual quality that will add to our current group of players. We are coming of a strong fall season and we will be working towards continuing to build our program to compete game in and game out at this level. As student-athletes, this group, along with our current players, will embrace the opportunity of competing in a tough A-10 Conference and responsibility of representing Davidson College not only on the field, but also in the classroom.”

The Wildcats will welcome to the class of 2024: Brooke Ditcham (Westford, Mass.), Phoebe Fowler (Orlando, Fla.), Emma Peddrick (Wlimington, Del.), Emma Nolan (Flanders, N.J.) and Riley Patton (Atlanta, Ga.).

Name: Brooke DitchamDitcham

Coach Denton: “Brooke is a creative center midfielder, whose vision and distribution will be a great addition to our team. She is comfortable playing in tight areas under pressure and has a great passing range which will provide options within our attack.”

Why I Wanted to Attend Davidson: I wanted to attend a college where I could continue my soccer career, but that would also challenge me academically and prepare me for life after school. I knew that Davidson could deliver on those goals and once I visited the campus and spent time with the team, the coach, and the close-knit student community, I realized that Davidson was the perfect fit for me.

Coach Denton:Emma will bring depth and competition to the goalkeeper position next Fall. She will be a great addition with her shot stopping ability, her commanding presence in the box, and with her distribution out of the back.”

Why I Wanted to Attend Davidson: “Davidson embodies all of the characteristics I want for my college experience including a strong sense of community, rigorous academics, personable professors, small class sizes, a picturesque campus, and competitive athletics. I was initially drawn to the women’s soccer program and North Carolina’s warm climate, but visiting campus and meeting students, professors, and coaches made me realize Davidson College is an incredible place where I can grow as a student, an individual, and an athlete.”

Coach Denton: “Riley is an intelligent and athletic player in the center midfield. She brings great vision in the attack, and a strong work rate on the defensive side of the ball that will provide depth within our midfield.”

Academic Honors: Received Dartmouth Book Award during Honors Day 2019; inducted into National Honor Society in Fall 2019; Honor Roll student every semester of HS; Cum Laude anticipated in 2020.
