Davidson College women’s soccer 2020 recruiting class unveiled

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson College women’s soccer head coach Adam Denton announced the recruiting class for 2024 as they will join the program for this coming Fall season in 2020.

“The staff and current players are all really looking forward to the arrival of the 2024 class to Davidson College family,” said head coach Adam Denton. “This recruiting class will continue to bring more depth and positional versatility to our team. Our incoming players will bring an individual quality that will add to our current group of players. We are coming of a strong fall season and we will be working towards continuing to build our program to compete game in and game out at this level. As student-athletes, this group, along with our current players, will embrace the opportunity of competing in a tough A-10 Conference and responsibility of representing Davidson College not only on the field, but also in the classroom.”

The Wildcats will welcome to the class of 2024: Brooke Ditcham (Westford, Mass.), Phoebe Fowler (Orlando, Fla.), Emma Peddrick (Wlimington, Del.), Emma Nolan (Flanders, N.J.) and Riley Patton (Atlanta, Ga.).

Name: Brooke Ditcham
Position: Center Midfield
Hometown: Westford, Mass.

Coach Denton: “Brooke is a creative center midfielder, whose vision and distribution will be a great addition to our team. She is comfortable playing in tight areas under pressure and has a great passing range which will provide options within our attack.”

Coach Denton: “Phoebe is a versatility player with the technical ability and tactical awareness to play in multiple positions across the field. Her strength, composure in tight areas, and ability to create on the ball will bring variety and depth to our program.”

Name: Emma Peddrick
Position: Defender

Coach Denton: “Emma is an athletic and versatile defender with the ability to play in both the center back and outside back roles. Her ability to get up and down the field, along with her distribution from the back will be a tremendous addition to the depth of our backline.”

Name: Emma Nolan
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Flanders, N.J.

High School: Blair Academy

Coach Denton: “Emma will bring depth and competition to the goalkeeper position next Fall. She will be a great addition with her shot stopping ability, her commanding presence in the box, and with her distribution out of the back.”

Academic Honors: Dean’s List (2018-2020), Member of Class Council (2017-2018), Selected as live in Resident to Underclassmen (2019-2020).

Why I Wanted to Attend Davidson: “Davidson embodies all of the characteristics I want for my college experience including a strong sense of community, rigorous academics, personable professors, small class sizes, a picturesque campus, and competitive athletics. I was initially drawn to the women’s soccer program and North Carolina’s warm climate, but visiting campus and meeting students, professors, and coaches made me realize Davidson College is an incredible place where I can grow as a student, an individual, and an athlete.”

Name: Riley Patton
Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Atlanta, Ga.

Coach Denton: “Riley is an intelligent and athletic player in the center midfield. She brings great vision in the attack, and a strong work rate on the defensive side of the ball that will provide depth within our midfield.”

Academic Honors: Received Dartmouth Book Award during Honors Day 2019; inducted into National Honor Society in Fall 2019; Honor Roll student every semester of HS; Cum Laude anticipated in 2020.

Athletic Honors:  Won 3 straight Georgia AAA HS Soccer State Championships (2017-2019); voted Georgia AAA HS All-Star Midfielder in 2018 and 2019; recognized as Georgia AAA HS Female Student-Athlete-of-the-Year in 2019; voted Top Drawer Soccer State All-Star in Spring 2019; selected as member of HS Athletic Advisory Committee; elected Captain of Tophat Soccer Club 01/02 DPL team that went undefeated, won DPL Region Championship in Fall 2019, and qualified for DPL National Championship in June 2020; Captain of Tophat Soccer ECNL team in 2018 that competed in ECNL National Playoffs; competed in ECNL National Final Four in 2017; qualified for ECNL National Playoffs in 2016; won USYS National Bronze Medal in 2015; participated in Georgia ODP, PDP and US National Training Center camps.
