Defenses dominate ECNL Girls Regional League Selection Game in Florida

SANFORD, FL – On Friday night in Sanford, the stars of ECNL Regional League Florida were out for the Continental Tire ECNL Regional League Selection Game. (ROSTERS)

Alex Lue Pann (Florida Krush) got the West on the board in the second half with a header off a corner kick.

Led by a strong defensive effort from goalkeepers Alexandria Lofton (Concorde Fire Premier) and Kate Patrick (Alabama FC) the West only needed the goal from Lue Pann to claim the 1-0 victory.

Following her outstanding defensive effort, Lofton was named the Player of the Match, and said it was great to see how so many outstanding players adjusted to playing against one another, making for a very challenging game.

“We’re all great soccer players here and in these tough environments it’s just so great to see that all these girls can adjust to the environment and play good soccer,” Lofton said.
