Development Academy Finals Week championship matches to be streamed live

The 2012 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Finals Week championship matches on July 22 and 23 in Houston will be streamed live on ussoccer.com, giving fans the opportunity to view the most elite youth soccer games in the United States at the club level.

The U-17/18 championship takes place at 8 p.m. CT on Sunday, July 22, and the U-15/16 championship kicks off at 8 p.m. CT on Monday, July 23. Both title matches will be held at BBVA Compass Stadium, the new home of Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo.

The championship matches at BBVA Compass Stadium, along with the Finals Week group games, are open to the public.

Eight teams within each age division are currently competing in the group stage of Academy Finals Week at the Houston Amateur Sports Park for the right to play for a national championship. This year marks the fifth Finals Week in the Development Academy’s history.

Group play opened with the U-17/18 age division on Monday and the U-15/16 teams started their group stage on Tuesday.

The U-17/18 Finals Week teams include the North Carolina Fusion, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, De Anza Force and Colorado Rapids in Group 1, and FC Dallas, Chivas USA, Solar Chelsea SC and Baltimore Bays Chelsea in Group 2.

The U-15/16 Finals Week field features the New York Red Bulls, Pateadores, Charlotte Soccer Academy and the Chicago Fire in Group 1, and Crew Soccer Academy Wolves, D.C. United, PA Classics and St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri in Group 2.
