ECNL alums make up 75 percent of NWSL College Draft picks

RICHMOND, VA (Via ECNL) – ECNL alums dominated the 2017 NWSL College Draft on Thursday at the NSCAA Convention in Los Angeles, accounting for 75 percent (30 of 40 players) of the total draftees.

The first round featured eight ECNL alums, with former FC Stars of Mass midfielder Morgan Andrews leading the way at No. 3 overall. Fresh off a national championship victory with the University of Southern California, Andrews will return to the Northeast to play for the Boston Breakers.

Both the second and third rounds each saw seven ECNL alums called to the stage, while eight more were chosen in the final round.
