ECNL Boys National Finals 2024: 10 teams books spots in title matches on Day 2
The second day of ECNL Boys National Finals in Richmond saw 10 teams book their spots in the ECNL National Championship Games, as well as the start of play in the ECNL Boys Regional League Finals. (Scout List)
In the U17 semifinals, San Diego Surf continued their hopes to win back to back ECNL National Championships, as they defeated Mustang SC 2-1 in their semifinal matchup. Surf will face off against Heat FC in the title game, after Heat defeated Louisville City Academy 4-2 in their semifinal showdown.
The U16 ECNL National Championship Game is set, as NVA will take on LAFC So Cal in the final. NVA advanced into the final by way of a 3-0 win over Florida Premier FC, while LAFC So Cal picked up a 3-2 win over NCFC Youth Academy to reach the final.
Pipeline SC continued their hopes of winning a second straight ECNL National Championship, as they defeated Rockford Raptors 3-2 in their U15 semifinal matchup. Pipeline will face off against South Carolina Surf in the title game, after their 2-1 win over Wilmington Hammerheads in the semifinals.
The U14 ECNL National Championship Game will be contested by Dallas Texans Academy and LAFC So Cal. Dallas Texans advanced to the semifinal with a second half goal and a 2-1 victory over Concorde Fire Platinum, while LAFC So Cal went all the way to penalty kicks to defeat San Diego Surf and advance into the final.
In the U13 age group, Real Colorado Academy advanced on penalty kicks for the second straight day to book their place in the final over NCFC Youth Academy. They will take on Pipeline SC in the final after they picked up a 2-0 win over VDA in their semifinal matchup.
At the U17 age group in the ECNL Boys Regional League Finals, Highland FC advanced into the semifinals with a 3-1 win over TSP FC, while FC Wisconsin picked up a 3-0 win over Eastshore Alliance FC to also move into the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, SLSG MO defeated DKSC 3-2 and will take on Florida Premier FC Black, following their 5-0 win over Boston Bolts.
In the U16 age group, PSA Monmouth won a high-scoring 4-3 battle over Northern Indiana Express, while Doral Soccer Club defeated Turlock Academica Jrs 5-1 to move into the semifinals. In the other quarterfinal matchups, FC Westlake advanced into the semifinals after a penalty kick shootout win over SJEB FC after the two sides finished regulation tied at 2-2. They will take on Kansas Rush in the semifinals, after they defeated CFC Red 2-0 in their quarterfinal matchup.
In the U15 age group, FC Westlake and Sporting Wichita had a high-scoring quarterfinal game with the two sides finishing regulation knotted at 4-4. FC Westlake advanced on penalty kicks and will take on Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals in the semifinals after their 4-0 win over Beach FC (CA). On the other side of the bracket, Chicago Inter advanced to the semifinals after a penalty kick shootout win over Lonestar SC, following the teams playing to a 3-3 tie in regulation. Chicago Inter will take on Villarreal VA in the semifinals, after their 2-0 win over San Diego Surf.
Arsenal Colorado advanced past Houstonians FC on penalty kicks in the U14 age group and will take on Three Rivers Soccer Club in the semifinals, following their 2-1 win over Hoosier FC. The other semifinal will be contested by Long Island Slammers and GSA, after their wins over WSC Crush and Richmond Strikers, respectively.
In the U13 age group, San Francisco United advanced past Colorado Rapids on penalty kicks and will take on Solar SC in the semifinals, following their 3-0 win over Eastside FC. On the other side of the bracket, Delaware FC defeated Club Ohio 2-0 to move into the semifinals and will take on Solar SC following their win in penalty kicks over SJEB FC.
