ECNL Boys Regional League champions crowned across the country

This past weekend, clubs in the ECNL Boys Regional League competed for championships in the Central, Northeast, Southeast, Texas, and West regions.

Teams from the U18/19 age groups were named champions of their region, while teams from the U13-U17 age groups punched their tickets to the ECNL Regional League Finals in Norco, California in July.

Below are the results from this weekend’s championship games as well as the teams who will be advancing to the ECNL Regional League Finals next month.

ECNL Regional League Central Championship

U18/19 ECNL Regional League Central Champions: Sporting Wichita

At the U18/19 age group, Sporting Wichita advanced to the championship game after winning two games over the weekend against Kings Hammer SC 4-3 in the quarterfinals and Ohio Premier 3-0 in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, Louisville City Academy advanced to the finals after defeating Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2-1 in the quarterfinals and advancing past STLDA 2-0 in the semifinals.

Propelled by two second half goals in the championship game, Sporting Wichita claimed the ECNL Regional League Central Championship 2-0 over Louisville City Academy.

ECNL Regional League Northeast Championship

U18/19 ECNL Regional League Northeast Champions: FSA FC

In the U18/19 championship game, FSA FC squared off against STA. FSA FC advanced to the title game after picking up a 3-0 win over PDA in the quarterfinals and a 1-0 win over Connecticut FC in the semifinals. STA advanced to the championship after defeating SUSA Albertson 3-2 in the quarterfinals and then after a game that finished 1-1 with NEFC in the semifinals, STA advanced 11-10 on penalties to make it to Sunday’s championship game.

In Sunday’s final, FSA FC defeated STA 2-1 to capture the U18/19 ECNL Regional League Northeast Championship.

ECNL Regional League Southeast Championship

U18/19 ECNL Regional League Southeast Champions: NCFC Youth

In Sunday’s U18/19 championship game, NCFC Youth took on CESA Triumph for the ECNL Regional League Southeast Championship. NCFC Youth advanced to Sunday’s final after earning a quarterfinal win over NTH NASA and a semifinal win over GSA both on penalty kicks. On the other side of the bracket, CESA Triumph advanced through the quarterfinals with a 2-1 win over Charlotte SA White and a 2-1 semifinal win over Highland FC.

In Sunday’s championship game it was NCFC Youth winning for the third time in three days on penalty kicks as they took home the U18/19 ECNL Regional League Southeast Championship.

ECNL Regional League Texas Championship

U18/19 ECNL Regional League Texas Champions: West Side Alliance

In Sunday’s U18/19 championship game, West Side Alliance faced off against BVBIA for the ECNL Regional League Texas Championship. West Side Alliance advanced to Sunday’s championship game after advancing 3-1 over Houstonians FC in the quarterfinals and defeating Dallas Texans 3-0 in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, BVBIA defeated Dynamos on penalty kicks in the quarterfinals, before defeating Avanti SA 2-0 in the semifinals.

In Sunday’s championship game West Side Alliance took home the U18/19 ECNL Regional League Texas Championship in a high scoring 3-2 battle over BVBIA.

ECNL Regional League West Championship

U18/19 ECNL Regional League West Champions: PacNW SC

In Monday’s U18/19 championship game, PacNW SC took on Beach FC after both sides successfully qualified from the weekend’s group play games. PacNW advanced to the finals after a 0-0 draw with Slammers FC and a 2-1 win over Pateadores, while Beach FC won their group after a 1-1 draw with Legends FC and a 4-2 win over San Diego Surf.

In Monday’s championship game, PacNW SC earned a 2-1 win over Beach FC to take home the U18/19 Regional League West Championship.

Also at the West event, pre-ECNL U11s and U12s also competed over the weekend. Below are the winners from each of the U11 and U12 groups.

  • U11 Group A – Beach FC
  • U11 Group B – Beach FC
  • U12 Group A – Rebels SC
  • U12 Group B – LAFC So Cal
