ECNL Girls Regional League Championships conclude in five locations nationwide

Five ECNL Girls Regional League Championships took place across the country from June 16-18, featuring the top teams that the ECNL RL has to offer.

Teams in the U13-U18/U19 age groups went head-to-head at championship events held in the following regions: Central, Northeast, Southeast, Texas and West.

U13-U17 winners from the five events earned their spots in the ECNL Girls Regional League Finals, taking place in Richmond, Virginia in conjunction with the ECNL Girls National Finals in July. Three of the five events will send two teams from each U13-U17 age group to the National Finals, except for the Northeast and Texas events which will send one team from each division.

Meanwhile, the U18/19 age groups decided their final champions at their respective regional tournaments.

ECNL RL Championship – Central | Saint Charles, MO 

U18/19 Champions: GTFC Impact 04

At the U18/19 age group, GTFC Impact took on Chicago Inter in the championship game. GTFC Impact advanced to the final after picking up a 2-1 win over KC Athletics in the quarterfinals and a 3-1 win over SLSG MO in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, Chicago Inter got a 2-0 win over Tennessee SC to make it to the finals.

In the championship game, GTFC Impact scored the lone goal of the game against Chicago Inter in the second half to bring home the U18/19 ECNL Regional League Central Championship.

ECNL RL Championship – Northeast | Somerset, NJ  

U18/19 Champions: World Class 05/04

At the U18/19 age group, World Class FC and PDA Blue squared off in the championship game. World Class FC advanced through their side of the bracket after picking up a 6-0 win over FC Delco in the quarterfinals and a 2-0 win over Bethesda SC in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, PDA Blue got a 5-1 win over Connecticut FC to advance to the semifinals, and then got another 5-1 win over Pipeline SC to advance to the championship game.

In the championship game, World Class FC broke a 1-1 halftime tie with a second half goal to win the U18/19 ECNL Regional League Northeast Championship by a 2-1 score over PDA Blue.

ECNL RL Championship – Southeast | Greensboro, NC

U18/19 Champions: Space Coast United 05/04

In the U18/19 age group, Space Coast United and GSA met in the championship game at the Southeast event. Space Coast United advanced through their side of the bracket by defeating Charlotte Independence 5-1 in the quarterfinals and by advancing past United Futbol Academy on penalties after the two sides played to a draw in their semifinal match. On the other side of the bracket, GSA advanced to the title game by defeating Richmond Strikers 5-3 in the quarterfinals and then picked up a 1-0 win over Charlotte SA Blue in the semifinals.

In the championship game, Space Coast United got the lone goal of the game in the second half to earn a 1-0 win over GSA and bring home the U18/19 ECNL Regional League Southeast Championship.

ECNL RL Championship – Texas | Plano, TX  

U18/19 Champions: FC Dallas 05/04

In the U18/19 age group, FC Dallas and DKSC met to decide the championship game on Sunday. FC Dallas advanced to the finals after getting past NTX Celtic on penalties in the quarterfinals and then defeating FC Dallas 2 by a score of 3-0 in the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, DKSC advanced to the semifinals after securing a 5-1 win over SA United and followed that up with a 2-1 win over Albion Hurricanes FC in the semifinals.

In the championship game, FC Dallas brought home the U18/19 ECNL Regional League Texas Championship with a 1-0 win over DKSC.

ECNL RL Championship – West | Norco, CA 

U18/19 Champions: Legends FC 05/04

In the U18/19 age group, Legends FC and So Cal Blues met to decide the championship game for the West event. Legends FC advanced to the finals after defeating Sporting California USA 2-0 in the quarterfinals and then advancing past Pateadores on penalties in the semifinals. The other side of the bracket saw So Cal Blues advance through the quarterfinals with a 4-0 win over United PDX, before advancing past Slammers FC on penalties in the semifinals.

In the championship game, Legends FC scored two goals to secure a 2-1 victory and take home the U18/19 ECNL Regional League West Championship.
