RICHMOND, VA – The Elite Clubs National League Girls will be adding a new league to its ever-growing platform of Regional Leagues.

Set to begin play in the 2020-2021 season and featuring competition at the U11 through U18/U19 age groups, the ECNL Girls Regional League – North Texas will be the latest addition and will be operated by the Texas Clubs Soccer League (La Liga, LLC).

The Texas Clubs Soccer League (TCSL) encompasses more than 4,000 players from all over the Dallas/Fort Worth area.   In its first year, the ECNL Regional League – North Texas will be a pilot division of the Texas Clubs Soccer League, with six teams in each age group from U11 – U18/U19.

As part of the ECNL Regional League postseason,  the ECNL Regional League – North Texas will be set to face off against the top finishers from the ECNL Regional League – Texas and ECNL Regional League –  USC for the opportunity to advance to the 2021 ECNL Open Cup at the ECNL National Playoffs.

“With the addition of the ECNL Regional League – North Texas, the ECNL is growing a pyramid for players and teams in all areas of Texas that will provide opportunity and access to the highest levels of the female youth game,” said ECNL Girls Commissioner, Jen Winnagle. “It will take a few years to reach its full potential and impact, but we are really excited about the future.”

ECNL Girls Regional Leagues are designed to service a deeper player pool from member clubs within the ECNL Girls, and to provide a competitive platform for objective evaluation of new clubs for full ECNL membership in the future. Sixteen teams at U15, U16, and U17 compete for the Open Cup Championship at an event including almost every college in America.

“Texas Clubs Soccer League is thrilled to operate the ECNL Girls Regional League – North Texas as a new addition to the ECNL Regional League platform. The expanded opportunities for the players and clubs participating in the league are fantastic,” said CEO, Steve Dunker. “Having a pathway into the ECNL Open Cup competition is a game changer for the league and our members.”

The ECNL Girls Regional Leagues will include twelve leagues in the 2020-2021 season: Carolinas, Florida Clubs League, Heartland, North Atlantic, New England, Northwest, North Texas, Ohio Valley, Southwest, Texas, Virginia and United Soccer Clubs.
