ECNL Girls Tennessee National Event set to feature 175 teams from 70 clubs
The ECNL Girls season is strumming along and will continue with ECNL Tennessee this weekend, bringing together more than 175 teams from more than 70 clubs for the highly-anticipated national event.
Following ECNL San Diego, which saw an incredible weekend of soccer along with the return of the National Selection Games, ECNL Tennessee will once again feature some of the league’s best and brightest. The two ECNL Tennessee National Selection Games will take place on Dec. 3 at 8:00 p.m., with the U16/17 game on Field 16 at Jordan Farms and the U18/19 game on Field 17 at Jordan Farms. These contests will reward athletes for their play throughout the start of the season while giving them high-level competition and recruiting opportunities. Along with the National Selection Games, ECNL Tennessee matches similar performing teams against each other based on standings last season, allowing for good measuring sticks of progress midway through the season.
At the U16 level, Concorde Fire Platinum has raced out to a 15-1-1 record, good for first in the Southeast Conference. At ECNL Tennessee, they will face a gauntlet of teams, battling VDA (8-1-1), FC Dallas (10-1-1) and Real Colorado National (4-2-4). This trio of teams has real quality, and will be a great test for the Atlanta side heading into the second half of their season.
Another squad off to a great start this year is NC Fusion, which has played to a 10-2-0 record and second place in the Mid-Atlantic at the U17 age group. NC Fusion will have an opportunity to build on that momentum, going up against FC Stars White (0-0-0), FC Pride (0-1-0), and Atlanta Fire United (3-9-8). Gaining confidence and continuing to string together wins and strong play, is key to season-long success, and NC Fusion has a great opportunity to do so at ECNL Tennessee.
Finally, at the U18/19 level United Futbol Academy has stormed through the Southeast Conference with an 18-1-1 record through its first 20 league games, placing it in second place in the conference. At ECNL Tennessee, the team will face many different playing styles when it clashes with the host Tennessee SC (0-2-0), DKSC (9-3-1) and San Juan SC (2-3-3). Facing those different playing styles is huge when preparing for playoffs come next summer, and with such a good start for UFA, it’s never too early to be gearing up for a long postseason run.
While these are just three teams at ECNL Tennessee, the full docket of games brings intrigue and high-level competition across the board. To view the complete schedule across all age groups, click here.
