EDP Cup Fall 2020 Girls Best XI selections unveiled

EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI from last weekend’s EDP Cup Fall Girls event, honoring the top performances from the highly-ranked tournament.

The Best XI from the EDP Cup Fall Girls are:

TRFC Roma – Hailey Cohen #12
Hailey is a defender who was essential to the defense first mentality of the team. She played the most minutes of any player over the weekend, and helped the team to two clean sheets, including one in the final. She was a leader for the team all weekend, putting the team first and having a winning attitude.

Jersey Shore Boca Jr FC Rangers – Kaylee McKee #10
Kaylee was dominant all weekend for BOCA and a handful for defenders to deal with.  Kaylee scored 10 goals throughout the tournament including 2 goals and an assist in the final.

Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals ’10 Black – Emma Schweizer #17
Emma dominated as a central midfielder and was the engine for the team during the tournament. Her energy level throughout the weekend was unmatched and a catalyst for the team’s success. She played both sides of the ball, marking the opposing team’s best players and creating offensive opportunities by distributing the ball to the attack.

SJEB Rush Red – Eleanor Lawyer #27
Eleanor was a constant threat all weekend on the attack and scored the crucial last minute equalizer in the last group game to secure the team a spot in the final.

Deptford Premier FC 09 – Caitlin Rouh #11
Caitlin was dominant from right wing all tournament. Whether it was directly from set pieces or open play she scored four goals along with two assists. She was always hand-full for the opposition as she consistently beat defenders with both speed and physicality and sent in one dangerous cross after another.

Wall Elite Chelsea – Madalyn Peterson #1
In addition to her shot stopping ability, goalkeeper Maddie was a vital part to Wall Chelsea’s build up play and was great with the ball at her feet. Maddie also kept 2 clean sheets making numerous great saves throughout the weekend. Her 3 penalty kick saves in the final boosted her team to the EDP Cup Championship.

Match Fit Academy FC Shore ’09 – Lidia Gilch #19
Lidia scored the game tying goal against Lehigh Valley with 4 minutes left, and also had the game tying assist and then scored the game winning goal against Torpedoes to send her team to the final. Lidia dominated the middle of the field all weekend, while playing up an age against some of the top teams in the region.

SJEB Rush 07 GA – Maddie Worth #4
Maddie was a rock in the backline for the team throughout the weekend. She was instrumental in the final two games, helping the team keep a clean sheet in a must win final group game, and another clean sheet in the final.

Lower Merion SC Furia – Sophia Sturm #19
Sophia played CB and anchored a defense that allowed only 1 goal in 4 games and helped earn 3 shutouts. She made key tackles and defensive plays in all four games. The backline and keeper played as a cohesive unit leading to a great defensive weekend.

 New Jersey Surf South Shore 07G – Shaela Gannon #7
Shaela was integral to the success of the team this weekend. She was assertive and commanding in the back. Her ability to read the game and be an outlet to her midfield players was impressive all weekend, and helped lead the team to a first place finish.

Wall Elite Atletico – Ellie Hartz #12
Ellie was crucial to the Atletico attack scoring 4 goals on the weekend with multiple assists. Her link up play was vital in allowing other players to get on the scoresheet and help keep possession in moments higher up the field.
