TINTON FALLS, NJ – Champions were crowned in the 2019 EDP League Cup and US Youth Soccer National League EDP Conference Cup on Sunday at the Capelli Sports Complex. Sunday’s championship games marked the end of a season-long, single-elimination knockout tournament for boys and girls teams in the 11U-12U (League Cup) and 13U-17U (Conference Cup) age groups.

Early-round games were played locally before the four surviving teams in each age group advanced to championship weekend.  All semifinals were held on Saturday, with the winners returning to action on Sunday for the championship matches.

Here is a summary of the EDP League Cup finals in each age group:

Boys 11U:
After beating Torpedoes SC Red Team (NJ) 3-0 in the semifinals, NY Red Bulls Pre-Academy North 2008 (NJ) earned another shutout victory in the final, blanking PDA Hibernian Celtic (NJ) by a 2-0 count.

Girls 11U:
Watchung Hills Elite 2008G Cosmos (NJ) completed its championship run by defeating SJEB Roma (NJ) 2-1.

Boys 12U:
It was a high-scoring final between Silver Lake SA Tigers (NY-E) and SUSA EDP B07 (NY-E), with Silver Lake coming out on top, 4-3.

Girls 12U:
Clarkstown 07 Elite Samimi (NY-E) notched its second straight shutout of championship weekend, clinching the League Cup title with a 3-0 win over SJEB Santos (NJ).

In addition to a trophy, a berth in next season’s US Youth Soccer National League was at stake in the Conference Cup finals.  The winners earned automatic qualification to the 2019-20 National League.

Below is a breakdown of the National League EDP Conference Cup championship matches:

Boys 13U:
Real Jersey FC 2006 (NJ) topped MYS Sporting CT 06 Boys (CT) on penalty kicks to claim the title.

Girls 13U:
Days after winning the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championship, Real Jersey FC 2006 (NJ) added the EDP Conference Cup crown with a 3-0 victory over Clarkstown 2006 Elite (NY-E).

Boys 14U:
Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals ’05 Black (PA-E) had a dominant performance against FC Sportika 2005 Boys EDP (NJ), winning by a score of 4-0.

Girls 14U:
Jr Rhinos FC 05 (NY-W) returned to Rochester with some hardware after knocking off Philadelphia SC Coppa Rage 05 (PA-E) 2-1.

Boys 15U:
With a 1-0 victory over NY Stars Premier Galaxy (NY-E), Real Jersey FC 2004 (NJ) became the third different team from the club to win the EDP Conference Cup this season.

Girls 15U:
FC Revolution Dynamo (PA-E), the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Champions, claimed another title with a 4-2 win over Alleycats 2004G NPL (NY-E).

Boys 16U:
STA-MUSC 2003B EDP (NJ) held off Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals 03 Boys Black (PA-E) by a 1-0 count to clinch the championship.

Girls 16U:
Keystone FC Premier 03G (PA-E) earned the trophy after topping FC Copa Academy 2003G (NJ) in a 5-3 thriller.

Boys 17U:
The contest went to penalty kicks, where Levittown Gunners 2002 (NY-E), emerged victorious over Achilles Football Achilles FC 02 (MD).

Girls 17U:
Alleycats 2002G NPL (NY-E) wrapped up its run to the Conference Cup by defeating Pipeline SC Pre-Academy (MD), 4-2.
