(Via EDP Soccer)  After a successful tenure as EDP’s Technical Director, John Saunders is moving to EDP member club Cedar Stars Monmouth to be its Director of Youth Development. In that role, he will be responsible for Cedar Stars’ US Soccer Development Academy Boys teams as well the organization’s non-DA club teams.

“We are sad that John will no longer be part of our day-to-day operations, but glad that we will still be connected closely with him as he will now be part of the leadership at one of our valued member clubs,” said EDP CEO Alan Shilling.

During his time at EDP, Saunders helped to continue the building of EDP’s strong relationships with member clubs and made sure that the EDP organization was player and coach friendly in all of its league and tournament activities. He also helped continue to build EDP’s excellent relationships with college coaches and with soccer sanctioning and governing bodies.

“I will always look back on my time at EDP with fond memories,” said Saunders. “In my work at EDP, I’ve been fortunate enough to meet many great DOC’s, coaches and players within the EDP footprint and I would like to thank EDP for giving me that opportunity. It’s been an amazing learning experience and without a doubt has made me a better coach and person.”

“Looking ahead, I’m very confident EDP’s leadership team will continue to move the organization in the right direction with a focus on improving player development and college recruitment across all their events,” Saunders added.

EDP is well underway in its search to find a suitable replacement and is excited by the future prospects. More details to follow soon.
