Eight Class of 2023 recruits from all over the U.S. sign with William & Mary
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary head women’s soccer coach Julie Shackford announced the addition of eight incoming freshmen to the Tribe program for the 2023 season.
The group joining the Green and Gold includes goalkeeper Jazzy Lorenz (Lone Tree, Colo. / Rock Canyon), defenders Ava Schultz (Annadale, Va. / Severna Park) and Molly Widderich (Mebane, N.C. / Eastern Alamance), midfielders Ava Lewis (Mars, Pa. / Mars) and Lindsay Wilson (Scituate, Mass. / Notre Dame Academy), midfielder/forwards Paige Seitz (Toms River, N.J. / Tom’s River South) and Caitlin Smith (Wilmington, Del. / Tower Hill) and forward Ava Marvin (Leesburg, Va. / Tuscarora).

William & Mary 2023 Recruiting Class
Ava Lewis – Midfielder – Mars, Pa. / Mars
Named All-WPIAL in 2022 … Selected All-Section in both 2021 and 2022 … Totaled 46 goals and 19 assists over her high school career … Led her team to State Championships and WPIAL Championships in three-straight seasons between 2019-21 … Played at Beadling Soccer Club from 2017-23.
Lewis on W&M: “I chose W&M because the moment I stepped on the campus I fell in love, and the team atmosphere was something I had to be a part of.”
Jazzy Lorenz – Goalkeeper – Lone Tree, Colo. / Rock Canyon
Led her team to 5A Girls Soccer State Runner-Up finishes in 2021 and 2023 … Earned All-State honorable mention honors in 2023 … Named First Team All-State Academic in 2023 … Was the Heisman High School Scholar Winner for Rock Canyon High school in 2022 … Earned Academic All-America honors in both 2021 and 2022 … Posted a 0.80 GAA with 22 saves and eight shutouts in 2022 … Played for Real Colorado ECNL for three years.

Ava Marvin – Forward – Leesburg, Va. / Tuscarora
A First Team Washington Post All-Met choice as a senior after leading her team to a state championship … Selected to the VHSL All-State and All-Region First Teams in 2022 and 2023 … Named the VHSL Class 4 All-State Player Of the Year in 2022 … Garnered VHSL Class 4 Dulles District Player Of the Year in 2022 … Won the girls academy national championship with FC Virginia in 2023 … Played club soccer for TSJ FCV … Won the 2022 Champion’s Cup … Won the 2021-22 GA Conference Championship and qualified for the National Playoffs.

Ava Schultz – Defender – Annadale, Va. / Severna Park
Named to the MACS All-State First Team in 2021 … Selected to the Washington Post All-Met Second Team in 2021 … Played club soccer for Maryland United FC … An ECNL North Atlantic All-Conference Second Team choice in 2021 … Helped the team to an ECNL National Playoffs in 2021 and 2022.

Paige Seitz – Midfielder/Forward – Toms River, N.J. / Tom’s River South
An All-State selection in 2022 … Named to the A-South All-Division team, Ocean County All-County team, and Shore Conference All-Shore team in 2022 … A Shore Conference All-Star game selection in 2022 … Played club for PDA Shore … Led team to ECNL Northeast RL League Championship in 2021 … Named ECNL RL Northeast All-Regional League Team in 2021.

Caitlin Smith – Midfielder/Forward – Wilmington, Del. / Tower Hill
Named to the 2019 U.S. Soccer Youth National Team ID Center … Named Delaware All-State in 2023 … Scored 46 goals and assisted on 10 in her high school career … Selected to 2020 Delaware Online Top 40 Girls High School Soccer Players and the 2021 Delaware Online Top 38 Girls High School Soccer Players … Earned 16 Varsity Letters at Tower Hill … Played club soccer for Penn Fusion SA (2020-23), FC Delco (2018-20) and Delaware FC (2016-18).

Molly Widderich – Defender – Mebane, N.C. / Eastern Alamance
Led Eastern Alamance to the 2023 3A State Championship and was named the MVP of the title game … Earned North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association All-State honors after scoring 50 goals as a senior … Played four years of ECNL soccer at NC Fusion … Named an ECNL All-American in 2021-22 … Selected as the Mid-Atlantic Conference ECNL Player of the Year in 2021-22 … Helped NC Fusion win the Mid Atlantic Conference in 2021-22 and qualify for the national playoffs each year between 2019-22.

Lindsay Wilson – Midfielder – Scituate, Mass. / Notre Dame Academy
Played her final two seasons of high school soccer for Notre Dame Academy … Named the Massachusetts Division 2 State Player of the Year in 2022 … Totaled 19 goals and tallied 22 assists … Selected to All-New England, All-State and First Team EMASS in 2022 … Played 10 years of club soccer for South Shore Select.
