FC Florida and PDA Florida to join Florida Premier League for 2015-16

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Via US Club Soccer) – The Florida Premier League will expand to 14 clubs in the 2015-16 NPL season, as it welcomes FC Florida and PDA Florida. Both clubs will field teams in the U-13 through U-18/19 boys and girls age groups.

For each club’s Director of Coaching, the NPL was the ideal, developmental breeding ground. “PDA Florida is committed to competing at the highest level of play within a structure that emphasizes player development in a club-based model,” PDA Florida DOC Josh Braun said. “The NPL is the one model that fits those needs… Our teams will play a quality brand of soccer that will look to enhance the fantastic environment that currently exists with the Florida Premier League.”

Tom Power, FC Florida’s DOC, expects his club to be an immediate NPL Finals contender. “Our club will bring a lot of competition to the league,” Power said. “We needed to compete against the best in the state and also be a part of a league that is there for the clubs.”

In the 2015-16 season, the Florida Premier League will consist of the following clubs:

Boca United Kendall SC
Chargers SC Orlando City Youth Soccer
FC America PDA Florida
FC Florida Space Coast United
Florida Kraze Krush Tampa Bay United
IMG Academy West Florida Flames
Jacksonville FC Weston FC

League champions are determined by total points at the conclusion of each regular season, with the winning teams in each division advancing to the NPL Finals.
