Florida State adds Concorde Fire standout Solai Washington to 2024 signing class

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Following their National Championship just one week ago, Florida State women’s soccer and Head Coach Brian Pensky added a key piece to their 2024 signing class, as Solai Washington has signed her letter of intent.

Washington is the sixth signee of the 2024 class and will join the Seminoles next season along with Wrianna Hudson, Emma Kirlin, Peyton McGovern, Nina Norshie and Taylor Suarez.

A forward out of Atlanta, Ga., Washington has made a splash both in the states and in the international game. Washington played in three games for Jamaica, helping them to their first Round of 16 appearance.

Washington was a dominant force for Chamblee High School in Atlanta as she finished her 2023 season with 42 goals and nine assists which earned her Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year honors and Class 5A Player of the Year honors. She helped Chamblee to a Class 5A state championship and a 21-0-1 record in 2023 and a 21-1-1 record in 2022 where she tallied 21 goals and eight assists. Washington was also named the 2023 ECNL Southeast Conference Player of the Year and was also a 2022 ECNL National Champion.

Washington was also a very successful track and field athlete as she placed fourth in the Class 5A state meet in the 100m dash in 2022. Washington was also a member of the Chamblee Honor Roll. Washington plans to major in sport management while at FSU.
