Girls Academy hosts elite prospects at Mid-America Talent ID Event

The Girls Academy (GA) hosted its Talent ID Event for the Mid-America Conference on Thursday, June 17 at Vernon Hills Athletic Complex in Illinois.

Players were selected for the event based on their strong performances in GA competition, with recommendations originating from U.S. Soccer scouts, GA Talent ID representatives and club leadership.

Standout players from GA clubs in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin participated in the Talent ID Event throughout the day on Thursday, with training sessions in the morning and games in the afternoon. Rosters were composed of top prospects from the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 age groups.

Through the GA’s relationship with the U.S. Soccer scouting department, the league’s Talent ID Events will serve as a key piece in helping to identify talent for U.S. Youth National Teams.

College coaches were in attendance at the event.
