Girls Academy member clubs and conference alignment set for 2021-22

The Girls Academy (GA) has shared the league’s conference alignment for the 2021-22 campaign, which will feature a total of 80 members.

Season Two of the GA will incorporate 11 additional members across the country after 69 clubs participated in the inaugural 2020-21 season. The GA has expanded for the upcoming season to include eight conferences, with the addition of the Mountain West Conference.

Clubs from Arizona, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado will participate in the Mountain West Conference: Utah Celtic FC, Rio Rapids SC, Albuquerque United FC Thorns, Broomfield Soccer Club, Colorado Rush, ALBION SC Las Vegas, SC Del Sol and Las Vegas Sports Academy.

Seven additional conferences will continue play for a second year. The Northwest Conference will be the largest in the GA next season, following an expansion to 15 clubs across Northern California, Washington and Oregon.

Meanwhile the Mid-America Conference will feature 13 members, including two from Michigan club Nationals, which has been awarded dual membership. Remaining GA conferences include the Southeast (11), Mid-Atlantic (10), Northeast (9), Frontier (8) and Southwest (6).
