Girls Best XI revealed from 2021 US Youth Soccer Regional Showcase NJ

EDP Soccer has announced the Best XI from last weekend’s US Youth Soccer Regional Showcase NJ Girls event. The selections were made based on the performance of the players during the tournament.

The Best XI from the USYS Regional Showcase NJ Girls are:

PSA NATIONAL ’03 – EMILY JOZAK #24

Jozak was one of the key players in the team’s attack, allowing them to penetrate effectively inside the box while creating space for other attackers. Not only was she a solid goal scorer but also created opportunities and assists for her teammates.

FC REVOLUTION ROWDIES – ALEX MARSTELLER #12

Marsteller played every minute for the team in the defensive midfielder position. Her passes completed rating, challenges won, and tackles were all above 90%. She was outstanding at pulling the strings for the Rowdies in possession.

MANHATTAN SC CHARGE – SOPHIA STELLABOTTE #33

Stellabotte was the team’s main player in the attacking midfield position and was consistently one of the most creative players in the tournament. She was a handful for the opposing defenders, and helped create most of the team goals all weekend. A force on both sides of the ball, she was a huge part of the team going 3-0-0.

SDA 04 BLASTERS – RILEY JONES #1

Jones plays outside back and is a constant part of teams attack. This weekend she helped the team buildup with her wide play and constantly joined the team in the final third creating scoring chances while helping her team keep possession. Her defensive play this week was outstanding and helped the side only allow two goals in three games against quality attackers, helping the team to a record of 2 wins and 1 draw.

LAKE GROVE-NEWFIELD SC UNITED – SOPHIA ONEK #19

Oenk helped lead the squad to an undefeated weekend with a strong presence in the midfield. Onek created many dangerous offensive opportunities with beautiful balls threaded to the attack and also defended strongly by shutting down the passing lanes and winning most 50/50 challenges.

PHILADELPHIA SC COPPA RAGE – EMMA LEVIN #99

Levin’s energy level along with her athleticism set the tone and gave defenders a lot to deal with all weekend long. Levin scored two goals, with one of the goals being something really special after a tremendous build up.

COLISEUM SC INFERNO – WILLA PRATT #6

Pratt, the team captain and emotional leader is an industrious midfielder who secured the middle of the field for the team all weekend. In addition to scoring two goals and having two assists, the box to box midfielder relieved pressure on the defensive side of the ball and started the transition to attack.

NJ PREMIER FC 2005 – NUBIA GOODING #10

Gooding is an extremely skillful forward who has a knack for scoring goals. Gooding scored five out of the team’s ten goals, and also added two assists on the weekend.

STA-MUSC 2005 NL – EMILY DENDIS #17

Dendis proved to be a handful for every opponent she faced this weekend and contributed 5 assists and was also involved in several more goals with her dangerous passes and crosses in the attacking third.

NEW YORK SURF ’06 ACADEMY – BAYLEE CANET #31

Canet was a dominant force in the midfield helping the team to an unbeaten 3-0-0 record over the weekend. On the offensive side, she tallied 5 goals while defensively she worked tirelessly winning balls and leading the teams transition play.

AC CONNECTICUT ’06 – AVA MALAGISI #7

Malagisi dominated as an attacking midfielder in all 3 games. She was instrumental in setting the tone for the team’s success. The engine of the team, her work rate throughout the weekend was unmatched. Stepping up when it mattered, scoring in all three games, leading the teams to a 3-0-0 record with wins of 1-0, 2-0 and 2-1.
