Gonzaga men’s soccer adds seven student-athletes to 2022 roster
SPOKANE, Wash. – Head coach Aaron Lewis has announced seven total additions to the Gonzaga men’s soccer team, ahead of the 2022 season.
After previously signing four student-athletes in the fall, Gonzaga has gone on to add three more players to the roster. Two of the new additions – Victor Gadea and Diego Domenech – are international recruits from La Liga club Valencia CF’s youth academy in Spain. Gonzaga has also added RJ Stretch, a transfer from the University of Portland who is a product of Seattle Sounders Academy.
The three recent signings join four previously announced additions: Robbie Mora (Placer United), Stuart Heringer (Shattuk St. Mary’s), Luke Tinsley (Timbers Academy, Swoosh FC) and Jake Goehring (Placer United).
“This group of players have a nice set of abilities and experiences that we feel will position them to impact early in their collegiate careers,” Lewis said. “They all love to play, desire to compete and enjoy the development process. We feel like adding these four guys continue our momentum from the fall as we look to take more steps towards our goals.”

Player Bios
Robbie Mora-Arias | Cerritos, Calif.
Mora-Arias comes from Whitney High School in California and has club experience with Placer United.
He was selected to the NorCal State PDP teams in 2019-20 and was selected First Team All Sierra Foothill League.
Mora-Arias also lived and trained in Spain at the international soccer academy for several months during 2020. Listed at a 6-0 freshman, Mora-Arias will join the Zags in the fall 2022 season.
Luke Tinsley | West Linn, Ore.
Tinsley comes from West Linn, Ore., and brings some club experience to the Zags. He has been part of TOVO Academy in Spain along with the Portland Timbers Academy and Swoosh (Nike Portland.)
Along with club experience, Tinsley was named to the 1st Team in the All Three Rivers League. His dad, Ryan, appeared in 99 games in Major League Soccer for Sporting Kansas City, Chicago Fire and San Jose Earthquakes.
Tinsley, a 6-0 freshman, will join the Zags for the fall 2022 season.
Jake Goehring | Loomis, Calif.
Goehring comes from Del Oro High School in California and has club experience on Placer United and Sac Republic.
He was selected to Norcal IDP, PDP and Da National Training Center as a youth. He was also selected to the NorCal State team in 2019-20 and selected to attend the Integrated U19 Residential Academy at FC Shalke in Germany. In 2021, he was named all-tournament, in the top 11, at the Davis Legacy College showcase.
“I chose Gonzaga because it is a well-known athletic and academic university,” Goehring said. “I love the school atmosphere and especially all of the students and staff that I’ve met so far. The team and coaching staff are amazing and have created a strong soccer culture that competes on a national level. From the moment I stepped on campus I felt very welcomed and at home.”
Goering, listed at 5-8, is undecided on a major but has goals to play professional soccer for as long as he can and then either be a coach or a physical therapist after his soccer journey is over.
Stuart Heringer | North Idaho College
Heringer has committed to GU and comes from North Idaho College.
“Gonzaga was the first school I looked at,” Heringer said. “I really enjoyed the location, size of the school, and its strong soccer program and academics.”
Heringer has some collegiate experience already his belt, playing at the North Idaho College in the NWAC. Originally from South Salem, Ore., Heringer has club experience at Shattuck St. Mary’s, Portland Timbers Academy and Portland Timbers U23s (USL 2).
He also has been an Oregon State Club Champion, selected to the Oregon ODP Team in 2014-2017 and in 2019-2020. Heringer is a member of the Region IV Regional Team in 2017 and named to the 1st Team All-Central Valley League.
At GU, Heringer will be pursuing a finance degree and hopes to be a general manager of a professional sports team one day.
RJ Stretch | University of Portland
Stretch has committed to GU and has WCC experience at the University of Portland.
Last fall, the Spokane, Washington, native appeared in 16 games and started in 10. He scored a goal against San Francisco, which ended up being the game-winner for Portland
ln 2020, Stretch appeared and started in nine matches this season for the Pilots. He notched one assist on the season against Pacific and played a role in three shutouts for the Pilots.
Diego Domenech Domingo | Valencia, Spain
Domingo signed with Gonzaga soccer and comes from Spain.
Having international experience, Domingo has been a La Liga academy player from 2013-20 and served as captain there his final two seasons.
Victor Gadea | Valencia, Spain
Gadea also reigns from Spain and will joining the Zag family this fall.
He developed with the Valencia CF as a youth and now has been competing with UD Alzira – Fútbol Base.
