Gonzaga men’s soccer signs Eastside Timbers midfielder Nico Braun
SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga men’s soccer head coach Aaron Lewis announced the addition of midfielder Nico Braun (Eastside Timbers) to the 2021 roster.
The native of Beaverton, Ore., native helped guide Jesuit High School to the 2018 state title and the 2019 Metro League title. He was second team All-Metro League, and the team captain as a senior. At Jesuit he scored eight goals and recorded 23 assists. Braun was on the school’s honor roll for all four years, and was a member of the National Honors Society. He boasted a 3.72 GPA.
“I chose Gonzaga because of the excellent academic and athletic opportunities in addition to the great community,” Braun said.
Braun, a 5-10 135-pound incoming freshman, intends to be a Business administration major at GU. His sister, Sophia, is an All-West Coast Conference standout on the Zags’ women’s soccer team. Nico led the Eastside Timbers club team to a State finalist finish in 2018, the 2019 Northwest Regional title, and another state finalist finish in 2020.
