Inter Miami CF appoints former Manchester United scout as Director of Scouting
Inter Miami CF announced that it has hired Mark Prizant as the Club’s Director of Scouting and Sam Gregory as Director of Analytics.
Prizant, an experienced scouting professional, joins from Manchester United, where he served as a First Team Scout in the U.S., while Gregory joins from York United FC, where he was the Director of On-Field Analytics.
“Mark has a proven scouting track record both nationally and internationally, while Sam is very knowledgeable in the analytics field. We’re thrilled to have them onboard,” said Chris Henderson, Inter Miami CF Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director.
Prizant spent over four years as a New York-based First Team Scout for Manchester United, specializing in talent identification and recruitment. Prior to taking his role with Manchester United, he served in a number of roles across the U.S. soccer landscape.
Prizant served as the Director of Talent Identification for the Philadelphia Union academy from Nov. 2013 to July 2016 and a U.S. Soccer Development Academy scout from Aug. 2013 to Nov. 2013. Notably, the Union academy has found success over recent seasons, producing 10 Homegrown signings currently on the first team roster, three on the Philadelphia Union II roster, and a number of players active on other teams throughout the world.
Prizant also has experience as a coach, briefly serving as the Chicago Fire U-23 Head Coach before joining the USSDA as a scout. He also served as an assistant coach for Florida Gulf Coast University’s men’s soccer team from 2011 to 2013.
Gregory took over the role of Director of On-Field Analytics at York United FC in the Canadian Premier League in July 2020. He quickly made his presence felt at the club with opposition analysis and analysis on the recruitment side, working directly with the front office and coaching staff to develop data driven insights. Ahead of the 2021 season, Gregory helped York United FC assemble a promising squad with an average age of 22 years and four months.
Prior to joining York United FC, Gregory held the position of Soccer Intelligence Team Lead at Sportlogiq, a computer vision driven sports analytics company based out of Montréal, for nearly two years. Before that, he served as a Data Scientist at Opta (now StatsPerform) from 2016 to 2018. There he helped develop metrics and insights for both pro club and media clients.
