Loudoun Soccer to play inaugural youth games at Segra Field

LEESBURG, VA – Loudoun Soccer has announced that several of the club’s rec program teams will be the first youth soccer teams to play at Segra Field, the home of USL team Loudoun United FC, on Saturday, October 12th.

Segra Field, which opened this year for the new pro team’s inaugural season, is an excellent facility located in close proximity to Loudoun Soccer Park, offering another high-quality venue to the soccer community of Loudoun County. Seven Loudoun Soccer rec games will be held at the stadium from 9AM to 6PM, with Grubbers Food Truck selling concessions onsite throughout the day.

This sharing of facilities between Loudoun Soccer and Loudoun United FC is one of many collaborative initiatives shared by the two soccer organizations. This summer saw Loudoun Soccer host the Pro Performance Training Camp in conjunction with the pro team, whose central defender, Collin Verfurth, spent his youth soccer days with Loudoun Soccer.

Mark Ryan, Technical Director of Loudoun Soccer, looks forward to continuing the relationship with the pro team, stating: “We are delighted that our young players will get to experience a stadium environment at Segra Field. It will be memorable for our players, coaches and families.”

Beyond this weekend’s rec games, the club looks forward to its 03 Boys White (17U) travel team playing their weekly fixture at Segra Field on Saturday, October 19th, kicking off at 12PM. This will be followed by Loudoun Soccer Night at Segra Field as Loudoun United FC takes on New York Red Bulls II in the final game of the season. Tickets may be purchased here. $3 from each ticket sold will go towards Loudoun Soccer fundraising initiatives.
