Manhattan SC Villa (ENY)
Head Coach: Ray Selvadurai
The defending Manhattan SC Kickoff Classic Champions are not looking to give up their crown so easily. The reigning NPL National Champions and #2 in the nation hosts are off to a flying start for 2017 with tournament titles at Puma Christopher Columbus Cup, PDA College Showcase and Disney Soccer Showcase. Averaging nearly 4 goals a game, the Villa is one of the most dangerous scoring teams in the nation. The New York City side has won top bracket titles in seven of their last nine competitions. The Elite Development Program (EDP) league member finished second in a nationally competitive group.
Royals Soccer Academy (NJ)
Head Coach: Leonardo Battaglia
A strong New Jersey team in the age group, Royals Soccer Academy is coming off a title at the EDP Cup Spring Showcase and placing at the APC Cup and New Jersey State Cup in 2016. The team will look to a strong foray into national level competition at the Manhattan SC Kickoff Classic to start their 2017 campaign.
Cedar Stars Academy – Orange County 00/01 (ENY)
Head Coach: Jim Lagarde
The Orange County side will look to continue their momentum leading into the Manhattan SC Kickoff Classic 2017. The 2016 ENYSSA State Cup Finalists have captured titles recently at PA Classics Winter College Showcase, EDP Cup Fall Showcase, and EDP Summer Showcase. Such consistent play against high level competition will serve the upstate team well heading into the Big Apple.
Commack Great Danes (ENY)
Head Coach: Mike Brigandi
The Great Danes head into the Manhattan Soccer Club Kickoff Classic 2017 with an impressive list of achievements. The current #2 team in New York and national top 20 team, the defending NY CUP State Champions and US CLUB SOCCER National Finalists have added arecent title at the Massapequa Premier Winter College Showcase and placed in top flights at Jefferson Cup and Potomac. The Long Island side is battled tested and ready for strong run in 2017.
Met Oval 2000 (ENY)
Head Coach: Filippo Giovagnoli
A strong EDP league team from Brooklyn, Met Oval looks to repeat as a Manhattan Soccer Club Kickoff Classic flight winner in 2016. The team is coming off a title at the EDP CUP Spring Showcase, as well as competitive placements at Puma Christopher Columbus Cup and the EDP CUP Fall Showcase. With some good momentum gained from competitions this Fall, Met Oval is well prepped for some upcoming national competition in their neighboring borough.
GPS NH 2000 NPL (NH)
The reigning US CLUB Soccer National Champions come to New York City with an impressive resume. A top nationally ranked team, the New Hampshire side are the NEP- NPL winners that struck gold at the Massapequa Premier Winter College Showcase in December. With a tough national schedule, this talented group will look to repeat as the Manhattan Soccer Club Kickoff Classic Champions in 2017.
Downtown United SC B2000 Blue (ENY)
Head Coach: Carl Rees
A strong New York City team that finished second in a highly competitive EDP league play, DUSC looks to turn their 2016 Manhattan SC Kickoff Classic Finalist placement into a present day title. After a finalists placement at the EDP CUP Fall Showcase and a title at the City Showcase, DUSC looks to carry that momentum into March with strong showing against national level competition in the confines of their own friendly city.
New York SC B00 Premier (ENY)
Head Coach: Paul Brooks
Hailing from the Westchester County powerhouse club, the highly competitive EDP league side is on a strong run that brought home titles at Potomac and the Massapequa Premier Winter College Showcase, as well as strong showings at the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup and Disney Soccer Showcase. Prepped with great competitive programming, NYSC is looking to make their mark at the Manhattan SC Kickoff Classic 2017 against more national competition that is just a stone’s throw away from their home grounds.
