Maryland Bays take on the Aegean Hawks in Region I quarterfinal of US Amateur Cup
The Maryland Bays face off against the Aegean Hawks of Metro DC/Virginia on Sunday in the Region I quarterfinal of the US Amateur Cup. The two sides are familiar with each other as they have met in past cup qualifiers in the regional rounds. The match kicks off at 3:00 at Field 18 of the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Maryland.
The winner advances to the semifinal against the winner between Vereinigung Erzgebirge of Eastern Pennsylvania and the Italian American Sports Club of Western New York.
The road trip in the US Open Cup came to a halt for the Screaming Eagles. The team was disqualified as several players who took part in the quarterfinal round had yet to receive International Clearance from US Soccer. The Aegean Hawks advanced in their place.
